The Pezizaceae (commonly referred to as cup fungi) are a family of fungi in the Ascomycota which produce mushrooms that tend to grow in the shape of a "cup". The Asian hornet ( Vespa velutina ), also known as the yellow-legged hornet or Asian predatory wasp, is a species of hornet indigenous to Southeast Asia . It is of concern as an invasive species in some other countries. Vespa velutina is slightly smaller than the European hornet. This species is not threatened and also somehow made its way into the US for a short time period.
