Ailurus fulgens or more commonly known as the red panda, is an endangered species. they are in fact not part of the panda family but part of the Ailuridae family. Over the past 20 years their population has decreased by 50%. Red pandas are commonly found in the Eastern Himalayas. They like to spend most their time in tree branches. What drew me to this species is their absolute cuteness. This also happens to be my favorite animal. I would really hate to see this species die out.
