https://redpandanetwork.org/Conservation Is the largest red panda conservation group out there. The people living in the project areas in Nepal are on the frontlines of conservation They are often rural communities, living in poverty, who depend on a wide range of natural resources and ecosystem services for their well-being. Unfortunately, this means they are more vulnerable when biodiversity is degraded or lost.
They have listed the Red Panda as endangered.
There are many reasons for the decline in red pandas. Deforestation Like all endangered wild animals, the loss of habitat is one of the reasons why the red pandas’ population is declining. Poaching is another major reason the numbers of red pandas are quickly declining in forests, accidental trapping, illegal pet trade, difficulties Adapting as well as difficulties reproducing. all of these are reasons for decline in red pandas.
Conservation Efforts
the largest conservation group for red pandas.
A group that helps support many many endangered species.
From what I've researched There have been sanctuary's placed in Asia, to help keep the red panda population safe. As well as repopulate areas. There is said to be less then 10,000 left red pandas are an umbrella species, meaning that their conservation also benefits other animals in their geographical area. Red panda conservation can be done in situ, in the wild, or ex situ, in captivity.
