Whirlwind

Written by Sid Griffin and Elliott Murphy

Sunday streets are empty

The city sun cries down

Kicking in your front gate

But no one's around

Someone used to live here

Someone had a wife

Now I'm lost in the past year

In another life

Caught up in a whirlwind

Swept right off the ground

Caught up in a whirlwind

But I don't hear a sound

A sound

Once our love was solid

Before it turned to dust

The wind began to scatter

What was left of us

Whippoorwill glides easy

Against the angry sky

Trees bend with the breezes

Which slowly answer why

Where we lost it shadows can be found

Misty mirrors, memories all around

Where we lost it shadows can be found

Misty mirrors, memories all around

Now I stand before you

As if a block of stone

Walked in with these flowers

Now I walk alone

Caught up in a whirlwind

Swept right off the ground

Caught up in a whirlwind

But I don't hear a sound
