A Jacobite At Heart

Written by Sid Griffin

I wonder if they're drinking Drambuie on Lake Shore Drive tonight

Yeah roadie could be scheming over someone's death or fright

Well they could be quaffing Baileys in some Palm Springs rendez-vous

Rapping over nothing like the wealthy get to do

Me I'm on the street my friend once again and words do fail

I'm probably not bein' good but somebody will go my bail

In a world of what's it to ya I guess I learned my part

Stick me in no limo I'm a Jacobite at heart

These people have their downers some like to call it dry champagne

Ruling out-of-towners nullifying half their brain

They're betting at the Burritos Cup with their too expensive wine

Smiling at their fortune wagering what's yours and mine

Me I'm in the paddock wondering how I got in

Ain't got much to gamble the devil is expensive sin

In a world of what's it to ya I finally learned my part

You won't see me wearing sable I'm a Jacobite at heart

Me I'm in the Phoenix House, wondering how I get out

There really ain't much to it if you got the dough or clout

In a world that socks it to ya your politics is your art

Break it to me gently I'm a Jacobite at heart

Really nothin' to it I'm a Jacobite at heart

You don't see me drinking doubles I'm a Jacobite at heart

I'm a Jacobite at heart
