We end up in a mansion with Jack Rose. However, it seems like he doesn’t notice us. It seems like he lost himself in the music after losing his mother. The mansion that once had pictures of his mom now has a bunch of teared canvases and broken memories. Wanderlust quickly thinks up a plan.
“Okay, we need you two to stay put right here for now. If things go south, Sara should come out of hiding first. Got that Sara?” Wanderlust asks with no answer. “Wait, where’s Sara? Did she not come through? Discoball!” But there was no one to come.
“Wait, so we lost her AND the ball that she picked up to get in here?” I ask too loudly.
Unwanted eyes come looking our way.
After going with the Just Dancers for a bit, Jack decided to try a music career once again, but this time as a rapper. New group that wouldn’t likely know about his past. Sure, he will lose most of his current, very loving, fans. Even ones that still love him after it was found out that Night Swan’s his mother. But how could he love someone who followed blindly the rule of an uncaring powerhouse for so long?
Jack notices that his phone’s ringing. He thinks about seeing who it is for a second before deciding it wasn’t worth it. It goes to the answering machine. A choice that, seemingly insignificant at first, changed his fate completely.
“Why won’t you pick up, Jack?” Sara shouts, still in Discoball. After having a split second of hesitation, Sara missed her chance to listen to Jack’s new songs. After all, they aren’t released in her world… at least, not by Jack.
“Why didn’t I get Wander’s number when I had the chance? He has my home number as I gave it to him just in case, but that’s no use when I am not out there. Why, why why?” Sara beats herself up over minor issues with major ripples.
“Why, why, why indeed, Sara.” A mysterious, female voice calls out to Sara.
“Huh, is that you, Swan?”
“How could you tell?”
“The chilling tone. If you were more of a positive tone, I may have thought it was Mihaley there.”
“Oh well. Yeah, it’s me. And all your friends that came over to party with you. Looks like they will party my way for eternity!”
“If you are here for me, take me. I am no use right now other than bait to get you taken out.”
“Ah, right. I am here for you, but not in the way you think.”
“Huh? What do you mean?”
Night Swan takes out a CD that shows both Night Swan and Sara on the cover.
“Ah, so you are going to play me a song. Wanderlust informed me that you are using CD’s with mashup songs to take over coaches and players.” Sara informs.
“Well yes, but actually no. You see, most of these are mashups, yes, but not all. This right here is an info dump of a song. Here, have a listen.” Night Swan says as she grabs out her boombox.
“So old school. Why not a phone?”
“Hey, Jack! Long time no see!” Wanderlust greets Jack.
“More like 3 days. What brings you here?” Jack says, barely paying attention to Wanderlust even being there.
“Did you check who that caller was before deciding to not pick up?”
“Nah, not worth it. Probably a fan girl from my past career.”
“Well, check.”
Jack checks the phone and sees it was Sara. “Wait, Sara? Why does she need me?” Jack asks himself before trying to call her back. The phone picks up, but the voice isn’t Sara’s.
“Missed me, Rosey?” A female voice asks.
“Mother… no, Night Swan. Where’s Sara?” Jack questions
“Help… me… she’s about to infodump it seems.” Sara gasps, barely audible to Jack and Wanderlust.
“Speaking of which, let’s video call your friends, or else…” Night Swan says coldly as she requests to swap to a video call. Jack, cautious, agrees to the video call.
“My my, how have you grown since we last saw each other.” Night Swan says.
“It’s been a week. So what?” Jack says.
“HOW DARE YOU SPEAK TO ME IN THAT TONE, BOY?” Night Swan screams.
In the background, Michou pops out, terrified.
“Oh, seems like you two got a boyfriend?” Night Swan teases.
“What?” Jack asks before turning and seeing Michou for the first time. “Who are you?”
“One of Sara’s friends. In fact, the only one that Night Swan didn’t capture from the party about 5 minutes ago.” Michou answers.
“See, I knew it would go south as soon as you came out of there…” Wanderlust sighs.
“Anyways, time to press play, boys. Hope you all listen. Including you, Discoball.”
Night Swan presses play.
