Hal-Freets in the realms of calamity are glorified over-achievers. Their entire existence is to be able to make their life worth living, complete their life goals and live to the fullest with no regrets.
Short & Sweet:
Hal-Freets are a people who encompass the tragedy of a fleeting life mixed with a burning ambition. Small in stature, enormous in intent, they live by a single philosophy that drives their culture: Make it count, make everything worth it in the end. Whether building communities brick by brick or sprinting headlong into danger with a smirk, Hal-Freets seek impact before their candle burns out. Many believe their unnatural luck is a gift, or, a curse, left behind by old fey unions or the tangled whims of fate itself. Other's argue it's not luck at all, but cleverness disguised as coincidence.
Whatever the truth, Hal-Freets make excellent specialists, saboteurs, tradesfolk, and agents of chaos, drawn to lives where precision and personality shine brighter than brute strength. It isn't just fate, but a destiny to make life worth it, and Hal-Freets embody that destiny.
Physical Attributes:
Though Hal-Freets are humanoid, most are born with subtle anomalies; slightly curled horns, erdant green or wildflower-colored hair, or skin kissed by ivy-like patterns. or freckles that shimmer in moonlight. Some Hal-Freets proudly flaunt these traits, viewing them as signs of fortune or favor from nature. Most, however, are pressured by cultural assimilation. They cut their horns, hide their hair thorugh dye, and trimm their ears to appeal to the "Human Standard".
This tension between legacy and adaptation defines much of their identity. Its their sharp eyes and expressive features that make them appear wiser than their years lead on. Its the voice of melodic or michievity that allows them to shift to appropriate scenarios. Their light frames carry them far with Dexterous might and grant them hands skilled in tinkering, slipping lokcs, or even coaxing life out of tools and soil alike. They know how to speak to nature and the tools they work with, and despite this, some whisper that their very blood is fey-touched, unnatural in nature. This is why many despise their small size, combined with the desirability of someone who can do small people tasks when they are so much more.
All in all, Hal-Freet physiology is as important as their mindset, and it should be known that all Hal-Freets are unique in so many ways besides being a "Small Human"
Fun Facts:
-> Although they may be similar to Skægýer, Hal-Freets are more related to Caprin in shape and size more than looks and aesthetic.
-> Hal-Freets may also be called Satyr's, though the fuzzy leg is a rarity among their people, being humanoid and all.

Fernwanderer
The world may be overgrown, but the Hal-Freets move through brambles like dancers through drapes. Their size, instincts, and deep familiarity with nature's lesser-known tricks make them ghosts in the underbrush.
Feature -> You ignore non-magical plant & undergrowth based difficult terrain.
Additionally... -> You have Advantage on Analysis Scores made to identify a plants, fungi, or natural material's non-harmful or harmful effects.
Feature -> Creatures attempting to track you by footprint, smell, or minor disturbances do so at Disadvantage when in a natural environment. When not in one, they roll without adding their Main Attribute's Modifier.
Additionally... -> You may also attempt to take the Hide Action even while only lightly obscured by a creature that is at least one size larger than you.
Cycle of Dedication
Hal-Freets all have a natural sense to avoid wasted time. They dedicate many of their moments to extend their purpose & fufill their goals, even if it costs them.
Feature -> You gain a +1 bonus modifier towards scores performing downtime activities. When performing one, you may also choose a Focus Task, which gains an addition +1 Modifier to it. ( Like cooking, crafting, building, etc. )
Additionally... -> Each time you successfully complete this Focus Task during Downtime, you gain a Dedication Mark ( Max of 3 ). Each Dedication Mark grants an additional +1 bonus to future rolls with your Focus Task. When you fail the task or switch your focus, your marks reset to zero.
Also... -> Upon reaching 3 total marks, your next successful use of your Focus Task is treated as a critical success, and you may generate a minor breakthrough, specialty item or signature result with your SEER's Approval.
Example:
Hal-Freet cook with Focus: Cooking completes three meals during Downtime.
They earn +1 → +2 → +3 bonus.
On the 3rd use, they critically succeed and create something remarkable: a morale-boosting dish, a magically-infused snack, or an item with temporary boons.
Freetling Ingenuity
Hal-Freets are naturally dabblers, tinkers, and reckless charmers of fate. In their world, hesitating is a luxury and failure is just a funny first draft. Whether picking locks they've never studies, improvising devices from junk or mimicking advanced maneuvers they've only seen once, Hal-Freets believe the best way to learn is to do.
Feature -> You may attempt any skill check or tool use without training, even if it normally requires proficiency. You do not suffer penalties for being untrained when doing so.
Additionally... -> Twice per Long Rest, when attempting a skill check at a higher tier than your proficiency allows, you may invoke Hal-Freet Bravado:
> Roll the score as if you were one tier higher.
> If you fail, the SEER introduces a complication—something unexpected, chaotic, or embarrassing but not catastrophic.'
Also... -> When you succeed at a task your untrained in, store 1 Improvisation Token ( max of 1 at a time ). You can spend this token to gain Advantage on any future untrained skill check--even if you already used Hal-Freet Bravado.
Examples:
You're Untrained in Tinkering, but need to disable a magical trap requiring Adept skill.
You activate Hal-Freet Bravado: treat your roll as if you're Adept.
You succeed! You store an Improvisation Token to use later.
If you had failed, your tools might've sparked, or the trap might've misfired in a harmless but wild way
(you get flung 10ft, or it paints your face blue with magical ink, etc.).
Contingent Omen
The Hal-Freet do not fear fate, but flip it. Yes, with carved horn-discs or ancestral coins, they place everything in the hands of chance. Its a way to relax, take the pressure off of themselves, and let a bit of the uncanny energy within emerge for a bit.
Feature -> Once per session, before rolling a score, skill, or any other task requiring a dice, you may instead imbue a special object with a 50 / 50 chance to determine the outcome ( Such as a coin, carved horn, luck disc or a wooden spear ).
Additionally... -> Upon declaration, your chosen item radiates split energies—half luminous, half dusk—spiraling along its edge, reflecting your gamble and risk.
Also... -> Call one side "Light" or "Dark" aloud and flip the object, so long as you have not used this feature during the session.
> On the correct call, you critically succeed the chosen task.
> On a failed call, you critically fail the chosen task instead.
After using this feature, it cannot be recharged, restored or influenced by reroll effects.
The Luckspike Conundrum
It's not just carrying luck, its a radiation of it. It twists, ripples, and shifts through the people around them. Some say being near one makes dice roll stranger, while other's say it just makes the world a little louder, brighter.. and far more unstable. But hey, its just a theory.
Feature -> When a creature in sight rolls a natural 1 or 20, you may immediately invoke the Luckspike Conundrum upon them. Roll a 1d8 for the effect:
Reroute Fate: The roller must reroll the score and you choose whether they keep the new or old result.
Fate Swap: Another creature within 20 feet of the roller becomes the new target of the rolls outcome ( If applicable )
Fortune Siphon: The roller gains or loses fortitude equal to your Wisdom Modifier + Level multiplied by two.
Fey Flare: A harmless fey magic burst that centers around the target, either creating a smell of sugar-dust and summons glowing petals around them, butterflies made of paper emit from the spell cast, a random object nearby begins to orbit their head for 1 minute, or their hair / fur / scales change color for 10 minutes.
Lucky Draw: One creature within 15 feet ( including you ) recharges an ability's limited charge or mana point.
Reversal Echo: The roller's next d20 rolls is automatically reversed. 1 becomes 20, 20 becomes 1. This only lasts for 1 round.
Slipstream: Until the end of the roller's next turn, they gain a free dash, their movement does not provoke opportunity attacks, and they leave behind harmless spectral footprints or glowing vines
Gremlin Surge: A small semi-invisible magical gremlin appears and messes with the nearest object or thing. A lock is jammed, a rope unties, a torch flips upside-down, a potion is spilled on the floor. No damage, but mishaps are certain, and YOU get to decide!
Additionally... -> During any group activity ( Group Skill Challenges, Collaborative Rituals, etc. ), your presence prevents the group from critically failing unless you also fail. If you succeed on the check, you may upgrade on ally's result by one tier of success ( Fail -> Partial, Partial -> Success, Success -> Critical Success. )
Description
Hal-Freets are scattered across more realms than a star in a gambler's eye. Whispering forest groves, fey-touched coasts, even the stranger realms are not safe from a Hal-Freets sheer will to experience their dream. Each population, shaped by circumstance and surroundings, has developed unique traits and traditions. Some are whimsical, some wild, and some wonderfully strange. And though bound by shared heritage, they reflect the wild variety of the worlds they call home.
Description
Your heritage lies in the shadow-choked swamps and haunted sinkholes of the Gallowing Wilds, a place where deaths lurk in the soil and magic linger like a fog. Among grave-thorns, slick ruins, and creatures that remember too much, the WYN-Freets become wary seers, swamp-gliders and omen bearers that mutter their luck rather than boast it as a prideful show of power.
Ominous Modulation
Feature -> You gain tremorsense out to a radius of 15 feet, which you can activate with concentration, no hands required. While active, you cannot be surprised by ground-based movement.
Additionally... -> You have Advantage on all Hearing-based Analysis or Perception Scores.
Feature -> You may move through mud, muck, quicksand, and swamp-based terrain without becoming stuck or slowed. This includes magical terrain that mimics natural wetlands.
Hazardous Omen
Feature -> Three times per session, as an Action or Reaction, you may flip an item imbued with your Omen ( such as a coin, horn-disc, or luckstone ) to impose a Misfortune on a creature you can see, including yourself.
Additionally... -> Misfortune reverses the raw result of the target's next d20 roll by flipping it to its opposite face.
A roll of 14 becmes a 7,
A roll of 19 becomes a 2,
etc.
If the flipped result would be higher than the origin, the flip fails.
Description
Touched by the whimsy and wonder of the Feywild, WYN-Freets have inherited an airy, mystical disposition. Born beneath silver skies and singing moons, their luck manifests more as benevolence than risk. These Hal-Freets seem to draw magic to them like pollen to a bee, contain eyes that shimmer like distant spells and steps that disturb no dust. They are the charm-bearers, the small miracles, the ones who are always just in the right place.
Enwildened Form
Feature -> You may concentrate to detect basic levels of Flux or Mana within a 15 feet radius, gaining Magi-Sight that reveals ambient arcane energy and magical auras.
Additionally... -> Even without sight, you may sense the presence of magic around you ( within the same radius ), though it appears to you as indistinct hums, glows, or feelings—less accurate but still detectable.
Bountiful Omen
Feature -> Three times per session, as an Action or Reaction, you may flip an imbued Omen item to impose Bounty on yourself or a creature you can see.
Additionally... -> Bounty reverses the raw 1d20 result to its opposite face.
A roll of 3 becomes a 18,
A roll of 8 becomes a 13,
etc.
If the flipped result would be lower than the origin, the flip fails.
Description
Born of still groves, gentle everglades, silent waterfalls and the hum of nature, SYR-Freets have been staples of nature and the definition of a neutrality between the two others. Where others run, guess, or gamble their way to hope, these folk walk with intent and slowness. They intend to listen, have a mind open enough to catch the moment. These WYN-Freets don't just live in nature itself. They speak to it, sing with it, and often lead others in rituals of the blooming flowers.
Druidic Exposure
Feature -> You gain Nature Sense within 60 feet of you while concentrating. This rare sense grants you the ability to detect natural creatures ( Beasts, Insects, Live plants ) and shifts in the terrain, its pressure, or floral growth. Even obstructions can't stop it if roots or earth is present to guide you.
Additionally... -> Once per session, you may commune with the land for 1 minute. Choose one:
Learn the presence and rough direction of living beings within 100 feet.
Ask the area one question about what has recently passed through or disturbed it.
Cause the nearby plants to subtly assist in one action without it counting as a spell.
( Disarming Traps, Binding Ankles, Dampening Sounds, Tripping Foes, Etc. )
Coalescent Omen
Feature -> Two times per session, as a Reaction or Action, you may invoke your Omen Disc to nullify a manipulation effect on a roll within 30 feet, including:
Canceling reroll effects ( Like reroll traits, abilities, or spells ).
Cancelling effects that force Disadvantage or Advantage.
Blocking automatic critical successes / failures from unnatural means.
Additionally... -> If the nullified effect would've changed the outcome significantly, you or the affected creature may gain a Virtious Omen. When activated, the Omen replicated the effect dealt to a creature onto said creature. This may only happen once per Long rest.
Description
Arcane populates the cities, and fragments of it is held in vaults of lost technology. Wild magic surges, and artificial contructs rule. Whether a product of magical experimentation, ambition, or too much time in unstable leyfields, ZYR-Freets have become this twitchy, hyper-sensitive organism that magnetically reacts to magic itself, even when it doesn't mean to. Their existence remains an Arcane Atttractor, absorbing its static presence in the air and releasing it as a discharge of brilliance and mysticism.
Static Channeling Rod
Feature -> You gain Resistance to either Lightning, Arcane, or Psychic Damage.
Additionally... -> Once per session, when you are targeted by a spell or magical effect that fails to produce its effects on you ( Due to a saving score, immunity, etc. ), you may absorb its static energy and kindle it for later use or expend it as one big flash. Choose one of the following:
> Gain a shortened and simpler version of the spell cast at you for the rest of the session.
> Receive two Mana / Flux charges. Any extra becomes a +2 to your next roll with a spell.
> Fully absorb the contents, gaining what's effectively a magical aura that grants advantage against spells.
> Crush the static energy, storing the big bang of doing so into an overpowering counter spell ( Uses your spell casting mod + your level as a roll against an opponents spell.
Volatile Omen
Feature -> Twice per session, as a Reaction or Action, you may flip an imbued Omen item to trigger a Chaotic Spike:
Roll a 1d6, get one of the effects bellow:
Roll explodes ( Roll another die and add both )
Roll collapses ( halves the result rounded down )
Reverse the result ( Same as misfortune )
Double it ( Up to 20, then cap as a critical )
Reroll the dice ( Roll another but YOU choose the outcome / number used )
All nearby magical effects within 5 feet simultaneously become their strongest or worse forms for 1 minute. ( SEER decides what happens here )
Additionally... -> If the result creates a critical success or failure, gain Advantage on your next Arcane or Craft Score.
