My name is Wilberthe Norgaisse. I'm 34 years old. When my mom was in Haiti, she was pregnant with me. She was depressed everyday. When she went to the doctor in Haiti, they told her I was going to be paralyzed on the right side. They were telling her I had typhoid fever. That's why I’m paralyzed on the right side. When I came to the U.S.A., when I went to the doctor, the doctor told my mom and dad I had a stroke in my mom's belly. That's why, when I was in high school, I had three teachers working with me. They told me I was not going to graduate from high school. That's why I didn't graduate from high school. They gave me a certificate to say I finished high school. They told me I have a learning disability, and that's why I keep trying my best for my two kids when they grow up.
I love my daughter. She's a beautiful girl. She's smart at school. She's intelligent. She makes me happy every single day. She's always there for me. When I'm sick or not sick, she always there for me. She said to me, “Mommy I LOVE You. When you happy, you make me happy. When you not happy, IM not happy.” She's always by my side every day.
One day she calls me she said “mom,” I said to her “yes.” She was telling me, “Thank God I have you, a good mom. Thank God, I come in a good family.” She said, “My grandma, my aunty, my uncles, my cousin, they love me so much.” She said, “They so proud of me. They care about me. My grandma care about me. She always there for me. When I'm there or when I'm not there, she ask for me.”
