The work on this website was written by students in Hilary Sallick's Reading / Writing 2 class at SCALE (Somerville Center for Adult Learning Experiences) in Somerville, MA. SCALE is a program within the Somerville Public Schools. It offers classes for adult learners in reading, writing, math, English language, and HiSET preparation.

Because of the pandemic, all of SCALE's classes were online during the 2020-2021 school year. We (the RW2 class) decided to create this website as a culmination of our year of virtual learning. This online experience has brought advantages as well as challenges. You can read about that on this site. Also on this site, you will find the array of history materials that we studied during the first half of the school year.

Our class wrote these essays with a lot of passion and emotion, as well as information. We hope you enjoy our work!
