BALANCE

Mens sana in corpore sano-- A sound mind in a sound body. Neither of those of givens, and they become harder to achieve as we learn to balance many different tasks, desires, and interests. A healthy lifestyle is not a given; like all else in life, it must be learned and practiced. So we strive to keep that front of mind.

CURIOSITY

We learn best not when we are compelled to by another, but when we are driven to from within. When we embrace that drive, we encourage others to do so as well. Learning will always involve answering questions, but it doesn't get fun until you start asking them. Smart questions are valued over smart answers.

COMMUNITY

Companions in learning are force-multipliers. They bring us challenge, empathy, new ideas and opportunities for reflection. The learning community is a community for life, and extends past the bell, to clubs, activities, and avocations.
