The Taiwan Experience Education Program (TEEP) and International Internship Pilot Program (IIPP) to gain an in-depth educational experience in Taiwan, while also preparing themselves for the Asian job market. In BMW Lab, the TEEP/IIPP programs are designed for those who decide to study MS or PhD program in Taiwan. The main research theme in our Lab is to implement a digital twin network (DTN) to support AI-RAN Alliance use cases (AI-for-RAN, AI-on-RAN, and AI-in-RAN). Specifically, we work with the LFN open-source projects of O-RAN Software Community (OSC), OCUDU, and OAI/Duranta and use DGX Spark GB10 to implement some AI-RAN use cases.
Remote intern and on-site intern are offered to students with different goals.
- Remote intern is offered to students who want to develop their knowledge and skills.
- On-site intern is offered for those who already decide to study/work in Taiwan. TEEP/IIPP project will offer scholarship to on-site students to cover their living expense in Taiwan. Labatory interns and industrial interns are both available. Labatory intern is 2 to 3 months. Industrial intern is, in general, 6 months.
Since 2018, we have hosted 102 TEEP students, including 64 on-site Lab. interns, 17 on-site industrial interns, and 21 remote interns. For IIPP, we have hosted one PhD student from TU-Dresden in 2024 and one undergarduate student from University of Indonesia in 2026. Among them, 14 students joined BMW Lab for continuing their MS program and 10 of them got a job from Taiwan after graduation.

Daffa Sayra Firdaus: 2026.6~9
Hello! My name is Daffa Sayra Firdaus, and I am a Computer Engineering student from Universitas Indonesia (UI). I feel very grateful to have had the opportunity to join the internship program at the BMW Laboratory, Taiwan Tech. This experience was not only a valuable academic journey for me, but also a very meaningful personal milestone in my life.
During my internship at the BMW Lab, I had the chance to learn many technical and non-technical things. My main research focused on artificial intelligence and satellite networking, especially AI-assisted routing in inter-satellite-link (ISL) networks. Through this project, I learned how to study new telecommunications concepts, read research papers critically, work with large simulation platforms, and design experiments carefully. One of the most important lessons for me was realizing that a successful implementation does not always mean a successful research result. I learned to value strong baselines, fair comparisons, reproducibility, and honest conclusions.
I also feel especially thankful when I look back on my own journey. After taking a gap year and experiencing failure in my first attempt to enter Universitas Indonesia, I never imagined that one day I would have the chance to conduct research in Taiwan. In my third semester, I was still working as an ordinary IT school teacher, and from my fourth semester onward I gradually became a software engineer and cloud engineer in a company, while also working as a research assistant for Professor Riri, a Professor of Computer Engineering at the Electrical Engineering Department, Faculty of Engineering, University of Indonesia (UI). Because of that, being able to join this internship at Taiwan Tech made me feel deeply grateful and reminded me that every step in life can lead to something bigger.
At the same time, I really appreciated the supportive people around me. Prof. Ray-Guang Cheng gave me guidance in shaping my research direction and encouraged me to think carefully before making conclusions. I also collaborated with Ms. Chynna on the VOSSIC data-center thermal and power prediction study, discussed technical topics with Ms. Joanna, and exchanged ideas with other interns during meetings and presentations. These experiences improved both my technical communication skills and my confidence in sharing research progress honestly, even when the results were incomplete or negative.
Another memorable part of the internship was the company visit to SYSTEX. It gave me very interesting industry knowledge, especially in cloud infrastructure and cloud security, which is directly relevant to my company work in Indonesia. I also had the opportunity to talk with senior professionals such as Mr. Johnny Lin and Mr. Aries, and that made the visit even more inspiring for me.
Living in Taiwan was also a wonderful experience. The people in Taiwan were very kind, friendly, and welcoming, and during my stay I did not experience racism at all from the natives. This made me feel comfortable and helped me adapt more easily to a new environment. I also enjoyed the convenient daily life, the academic atmosphere, and the chance to build friendships with people from different backgrounds.
Outside of the laboratory, I had many fun and memorable experiences in Taipei. I really enjoyed visiting interesting landmarks around the city, and I was especially happy to visit GuangHua Digital Plaza. As someone who loves technology, it felt like a dream come true to buy many tech items there, such as a phone and a laptop cooling pad that were not available in Indonesia. I also cannot forget the delicious fried rice I ate in Taiwan, which became one of my favorite foods during my stay!
In summary, this internship was one of the most meaningful experiences in my life. It gave me valuable research experience, stronger technical and communication skills, new industry insights, unforgettable memories in Taiwan, and a deeper sense of gratitude for my personal journey. I am very happy and thankful to have been part of this program, and I would gladly recommend this internship to other students. I believe the lessons and experiences I gained here will continue to support my bachelor thesis and my future work in networking, cloud computing, and artificial intelligence.
Industrial Interns

Hello, my name is Alexander Christhian, and I am a Computer Engineering student from the University of Indonesia. I had the opportunity to come to Taiwan through the Taiwan Experience Education Program (TEEP) with BMW Lab, which allowed me to experience both academic and professional life in a new environment. Joining this program was a major step for me because it was my first time living abroad and also my first experience working in a professional setting. Coming from Indonesia, I had to adapt to many new things, from the language and culture to a completely different daily routine and working environment.
During my time in Taiwan, I have been working as an intern at SYSTEX, where I gained hands-on experience with graph data, artificial intelligence, and real-world software development. I learned how graph-based data can be used to represent complex relationships between information and how AI technologies can be applied and integrated into existing systems. More importantly, working at SYSTEX showed me how the software industry actually operates. I experienced working with a large and existing codebase, understanding project requirements, collaborating with other developers, following established development workflows, and realizing that professional software development involves much more than simply writing code.
Living in Taiwan has also been a very different experience from my life in Indonesia. I had to become more independent in managing my daily life, communicating with people from different backgrounds, navigating an unfamiliar city, and adjusting to a new culture. At the same time, Taiwan has given me many memorable experiences, from exploring Taipei and other places to experiencing the transportation, food, working culture, and everyday lifestyle. Being away from my family and familiar surroundings was sometimes difficult, but it also pushed me to become more confident and comfortable handling things on my own.
Overall, this experience has been both challenging and extremely important for my personal and professional growth. Before coming to Taiwan, I had never worked professionally and had never lived abroad, so many situations that may seem normal to others were completely new to me. There were moments when adapting to work, communicating, and living independently felt difficult, but those challenges taught me how to be more responsible, adaptable, and open-minded. My experience through TEEP and SYSTEX has not only improved my technical knowledge, but has also helped me understand myself better and prepare for the challenges I may face in my future career and life.

My experience joining the Taiwan Experience Education Program, or TEEP, has been one of the most meaningful parts of my academic journey so far because it gave me the opportunity to experience technology from both a research and industrial perspective. Through this program, I was able to come to Taiwan and work directly in an engineering environment at WNC Corporation in Hsinchu, while also being connected with the academic environment of NTUST BMW Lab. Before joining the program, I was already interested in machine learning and artificial intelligence, but this internship helped me understand how AI can be applied beyond the applications that are usually discussed in classrooms. In particular, it strongly increased my interest in networking and telecommunications technology from the AI perspective. I became much more interested in how wireless communication systems can not only transfer information, but also become a source of information themselves.
During my internship at WNC, I worked mainly on WiFi sensing, where wireless signals are analyzed to understand changes occurring in an indoor environment. Instead of relying on cameras or wearable devices, WiFi sensing observes how radio signals behave as they travel, reflect, and change around people and objects. My main responsibility was related to training, fine-tuning, and evaluating machine learning models used in this system. I conducted experiments with different configurations, adjusted model and processing parameters, compared results between different approaches, and analyzed how the models performed in various indoor conditions. Some scenarios were relatively simple, while others were much more difficult, such as detecting someone who remained stationary, distinguishing movement inside the target area from movement outside of it, or dealing with environmental changes that could influence the wireless signal.
This work made me appreciate how closely AI, networking, signal behavior, and telecommunications can be connected. Previously, I often thought about AI mainly from the perspective of models, datasets, and prediction accuracy. At WNC, I began to see another side of it. The quality of an AI system can depend heavily on the characteristics of the communication system that produces the data in the first place. Wireless signals are affected by the environment, hardware, movement, interference, and many other real-world factors, so improving an AI model is not always simply a matter of changing the architecture or training it longer. Sometimes it requires understanding the signal itself, the preprocessing pipeline, the experimental setup, and the constraints of the final system. That combination is what made this field especially interesting to me.
Another aspect that I really enjoyed was experiencing how industrial R&D differs from a normal academic project. In a university assignment, getting a promising result can sometimes be enough to demonstrate that an idea works. In an industrial environment, however, a result needs to be much more carefully evaluated. I learned that an improvement should be repeatable across multiple experiments, measurable using clear metrics, practical in terms of computing resources and execution time, and understandable to other engineers who may need to review or continue the work. Because of this, I became more disciplined in how I conducted experiments. I learned to establish a reference result first, change one important factor at a time, compare the outcome fairly, repeat important experiments, document limitations, and only then decide whether the change was actually an improvement.
This way of working changed how I think about engineering. I started to become more careful about the difference between something that simply looks better in one experiment and something that can actually be trusted. Working with machine learning models also showed me how much randomness, data variation, and environmental conditions can influence results. Because of that, I became much more interested in experimentation itself: how to design a fair comparison, how to understand why two runs are different, and how to determine whether an improvement is caused by the method or simply by variation in the experiment. These are skills that I believe will remain useful regardless of whether I continue working in AI, networking, telecommunications, or another engineering field.
The internship also gave me a much clearer picture of the type of technology I would like to explore in the future. I am particularly interested in the intersection between artificial intelligence and communication networks, where AI can be used to improve how networks operate, interpret wireless environments, optimize communication systems, or enable completely new applications such as sensing through existing wireless infrastructure. WiFi sensing was a great introduction to this idea because the same communication signals that are normally used to connect devices can also be analyzed to understand physical activity in the surrounding environment. That idea fascinated me, and it made networking and telecommunications feel much broader than simply routers, protocols, or data transmission.
Another major part of the TEEP experience was simply being able to live in Taiwan. Outside of work, I tried to use my time to explore as much as possible and experience a different environment from what I was used to in Indonesia. Living in Hsinchu gave me a quieter daily environment during the working week, but whenever I had enough free time, Taipei became one of my favorite places to explore. I enjoyed walking around different parts of the city, trying different food, using the public transportation system, visiting stores, and simply experiencing how everyday life in Taiwan felt.
One of the things I enjoyed the most about Taipei was how easy it was to find places connected to technology. As someone studying Computer Engineering, visiting technology-focused areas was naturally very interesting for me. I spent time exploring places around the Guanghua Digital Plaza area and Syntrend Creative Park, where there are many electronics stores, computer components, gadgets, gaming equipment, accessories, and newer consumer technologies. Walking around these places was genuinely fun because it felt like being surrounded by the things I normally only see online. I could look at different laptops, PC components, peripherals, networking equipment, electronics, and other technology products directly.
I also wanted my experience in Taiwan to be more than just technology and work, so I spent time visiting natural areas as well. One of the places I explored was Yangmingshan, which was a completely different environment from the technology districts and busy streets of Taipei. Being able to travel from a dense modern city to mountains, greenery, and open scenery within a relatively short period of time was something I really appreciated about Taiwan. Visiting places like Yangmingshan gave me a chance to relax after spending most weekdays working with code, experiments, models, and technical problems.
Exploring Taipei in general became one of my favorite parts of the experience. Sometimes there was no complicated plan; I could simply take public transportation, choose an area, walk around, discover food or shops, and experience the city. The transportation system made this especially convenient. It allowed me to visit many different places without needing a car, and it made spontaneous exploration much easier. These experiences may not be directly related to my internship, but they were an important part of what made the TEEP program memorable.
Living abroad for this period also gave me some personal growth that would have been difficult to gain from staying in my normal environment. I had to become more independent in managing daily life, transportation, work schedules, communication, and unfamiliar situations. At the same time, I was surrounded by a new language and culture. Even simple activities such as ordering food, understanding signs, travelling somewhere new, or figuring out how certain things worked became part of the experience. Over time, Taiwan started to feel much more familiar, and I became more comfortable navigating both professional and everyday situations independently.
What I appreciate most about TEEP is that the program did not give me only one type of experience. Academically, it allowed me to connect my interests in computer engineering, AI, networking, and telecommunications. Professionally, it gave me direct exposure to an industrial R&D environment at WNC and showed me how engineers evaluate technology under real constraints. Personally, it gave me the opportunity to live abroad, meet new people, adapt to another culture, explore Taiwan, and become more independent.
Looking back, the internship has made me even more certain that I want to continue exploring areas where AI interacts with networking and telecommunications systems. Working with WiFi sensing showed me that there are still many interesting possibilities when machine learning is combined with wireless communication technology. There are technical challenges involving data, signals, hardware, environments, efficiency, and reliability, but those challenges are exactly what make the field interesting to me. I enjoy the idea of working on technology where improvements are not limited to a machine learning model itself, but require understanding the entire system around it.
Overall, my TEEP experience in Taiwan has been much more than simply completing an internship requirement. It gave me a clearer understanding of industrial engineering, introduced me to a field that I would genuinely like to explore further, and allowed me to experience Taiwan beyond the workplace. From fine-tuning WiFi sensing models in Hsinchu, discussing experimental results and engineering decisions, to spending my free time exploring Taipei, walking around technology markets such as Guanghua and Syntrend, and enjoying the natural scenery of Yangmingshan, the entire experience has been both professionally valuable and personally memorable. I am very grateful for the opportunity, and I believe the experience will continue influencing the direction of my studies and career long after the TEEP program ends.

My name is Edgrant, and I am a student from the University of Indonesia. This is my second time participating in the Taiwan Education Experience Program (TEEP) internship with BMW Lab. Unlike my previous internship, where I worked as a research intern under a university laboratory, this year I had the opportunity to work as an industrial intern in a company. This experience allowed me to gain exposure to a professional working environment and provided me with valuable insights that were different from those I obtained during my research internship. Throughout the internship, I learned many new technical and professional skills, while also gaining a deeper understanding of how industry projects are managed and executed.
One of the biggest differences between this year and last year was the environment in which I worked. Last year, I spent most of my time on a university campus, collaborating in an academic setting. This year, however, I worked at the headquarters of the company, where I was exposed to a much more professional and corporate atmosphere. Experiencing life and work in a different city also allowed me to observe the differences in culture, lifestyle, and work environments between locations. Adapting to a new city and a new workplace was both challenging and rewarding, helping me become more flexible and open to new experiences.
In addition, working outside of a campus environment significantly improved my independence and problem-solving abilities. Since I worked in a new city with only one other intern, I had to learn how to manage many aspects of daily life on my own, especially transport. These experiences helped me become more confident, responsible, and self-reliant. I also learned the importance of effective communication, teamwork, and adaptability when working with colleagues from different backgrounds.
Overall, my industrial internship at WNC was an incredibly valuable and memorable experience. It not only enhanced my technical knowledge and practical skills but also contributed significantly to my personal growth. I am truly grateful for the opportunity to participate in this internship, gain real-world industry experience, and develop both my technical and soft skills. The lessons and experiences I gained during this program will undoubtedly benefit me in my future academic and professional journey.
Petrajoy Davidson: 2026.2~8
Hello, my name is Petrajoy Davidson, and I came into this program as a student from Brawijaya University. TEEP ended up being the bridge that carried me a lot further than I expected: I'm now continuing on as a fully-scholarship graduate student at BMW Lab, NTUST, which still feels a little surreal to say out loud.
Unlike most of my fellow interns who spent their two months inside a university lab, I was placed at Auray, an O-RAN Alliance authorized OTIC, which meant clocking in at an actual office every day rather than a campus building. That shift outside the usual student environment pushed me in ways coursework never really could. I worked across O-RAN interface conformance and compliance testing, helped document formal SOPs, and built out an automated Python framework to automate tests. Beyond the technical skills, I picked up something harder to teach: how to read a team's rhythm, communicate with a supervisor, and figure out what "done" actually means when real people are depending on your part of the system.
That's really the biggest difference I noticed between campus and office life. In a university setting, a deadline can slip a little and mistakes mostly stay between you and a grade. At Auray, everything moves on a tighter, more accountable loop: you flag blockers early, you document exactly what you tried and why, and your work has to hold up because someone else's testing depends on it. It forced me to think and communicate like an engineer rather than a student, and that mindset shift is honestly one of the most valuable things I'm taking out of this internship.
But TEEP was never just the nine-to-six. Some of my favorite memories are from everything around the work: wandering night markets after a long day, chasing down whatever food looked good on a whim, digging through Guanghua and Syntrend for tech I couldn't find back home, and squeezing in landmark visits whenever a weekend opened up. Taiwan has a way of making even a tiring work week feel worth it once you step outside.
I'm really grateful to Vic for the day-to-day supervision and patience, to Mr. Max and Mr. Johnny for making the office feel a lot less intimidating, and to Prof. Ray and the BMW Lab community for welcoming me in as I move from intern to grad student. I'm taking all of it, the debugging instincts, the work-culture lessons, and the memories, straight into my thesis work on IBN-based security for O-RAN.
Laboratory Interns

大家好! My name is Poggy Macello Gultom, Electrical Engineering from ITB. I spent two months at BMW Lab through TEEP this summer. Honestly the work was not what I expected going in. A lot of it was less about building new things and more about understanding what was already there and why it was broken. The lab had a six-server O-RAN setup where the original researcher had graduated and left, so there was documentation but nothing proven. Most of the early weeks were just SSH-ing into servers, reading old config files, tracing broken routes, and figuring out what was actually running versus what was just written down. It was slow at times but that process taught me more than I expected, both technically and in terms of how to document things properly so whoever comes after does not have to start from zero like I did.
By the end I had a working pipeline where an LLM sends a natural language intent, it hits the NFO API over mTLS, and a gNB pod spins up on StarlingX. Things like O-RAN interfaces, Kubernetes, mTLS, Keycloak, FlexRIC, Rust were all completely new to me before this. Getting to learn all of that in one internship while actually applying it to a real research system, not just tutorials, felt like a lot of value packed into two months.
The industrial visits and conferences added another layer to that. The 6G and AI conferences at NTUST showed me what the research community is actually working on right now, which is different from what you read about in papers. The Systex and Groundhog visits showed how some of what we were doing in the lab actually looks when it becomes a real product. Those visits gave me context I would not have gotten just from sitting in the lab.
The people side of it was also something I did not expect to appreciate as much as I did. I met a lot of people across the two months, other interns from different universities and countries, lab seniors, Masters students, and people from the industry during the visits. Everyone was easy to talk to and genuinely open about their work and their experience in Taiwan.
Outside the lab, one thing I looked forward to every day was playing football at the NTUST field in the afternoon with the locals there. It became a routine and honestly one of the highlights of the whole trip. Taiwan in general was comfortable to live in. The food, the transport, the overall pace of daily life all worked well for me.
Thanks to Professor Ray, Ian, and Joshevan for making this possible. I came in knowing very little about O-RAN and left with a working system and a lot of people I am glad to have met.

Hello everyone, my name is Samuel, a Information Student from STMIK Kuwera (School Of Technopreneur Nusantara). I am very grateful with the opportunity to participate in the TEEP@AsiaPlus at the BMW Lab during my undergraduate studies. During my internship i have learning many things about AI such as MCP, GRAPH, and anything else. Else than that. The guidance from the mentors like Prof. Ray, Mr. Ian, Mr. Joshevan. And the masters help me guide how to do these stuff. Overall i considering to continue my studies here as Masters at the NTUST for help me study more about AI and that kind of stuff in the lab.
Outside the lab, one thing in my mind about Taiwan in general was comfortable to live in. The food, especially for the transport. Its really great here. and the overall pace of daily life all worked well for me.

When I first found out that I would be spending my summer in Taiwan for an internship at BMW Lab, I honestly didn’t know what to expect. I came here with a mix of excitement, curiosity, and a tiny bit of “okay… what exactly am I getting myself into here?” (┬┬﹏┬┬)
My internship was a little different from the usual research-focused projects. I worked on Student Experience and Outreach, which meant I got to be involved in many different things throughout the program, from coordinating events and company visits to creating content, documenting activities, and talking with fellow interns about their experiences. It was a role that constantly put me in situations where I had to communicate, organize, and figure things out along the way.
One of my favorite parts of this internship was that no two days really felt the same. One day I could be preparing for an announcement or coordinating an event, and the next I could be working on BMW Lab’s social media, organizing and joining a company visit, or chasing people down for an interview or to shoot their testimony. It was definitely different from what I initially imagined when I heard the word “internship”, but that was also what made it so fun!
Beyond work itself, living in Taiwan these past eight weeks has been an experience of its own. I’ve had the chance to visit a couple of different countries before, but there is something about Taiwan that really stood out to me. It feels like such a nice place to live, with this comfortable, almost slow-living feeling while still having everything I need around me. I also felt incredibly safe here, even when I ended up staying out pretty late at night, which made exploring on my own feel so much easier~
And believe me, I really tried to explore every inch of Taipei. Most of my after-work hours and weekends were spent going somewhere, trying new food, visiting random places, stamp hunting (I got 500+ by the way!!), or simply going out with friends. My sleep schedule may or may not have completely fallen apart because of it… ( ̄▽ ̄*)ゞ I get drained pretty easily, so by the end of some days I was absolutely exhausted, but honestly, it was worth every bit of energy. Those little adventures ended up becoming some of my favorite memories from Taiwan <3
Looking back, I think the biggest thing I gained from TEEP was not just a new set of skills, but the confidence to just figure things out. I learned how to communicate with people I had never met before, coordinate things that initially felt super overwhelming, adapt when plans changed, and be comfortable taking the initiative.
More unexpectedly, spending two months here has also made me think differently about my future plans. Before coming here, I never really considered staying in Taiwan for an extended period of time. Now, I can genuinely see myself coming back someday, whether it is to study or to work here for a year or two. I think that says a lot about how much I enjoyed not only the internship, but also the life I got to experience here :3

Jesaya David G. N. P.
Hello, my name is Jesaya David, a Computer Engineering student from Universitas Indonesia. I am very grateful for the opportunity to join the TEEP program at BMW Lab, NTUST, where I worked with a real O-RAN testbed and learned to connect wireless theory with Linux, cloud infrastructure, programming, data analysis, and physical measurement. It is very exciting to actually work with real RAN hardware after months (and even years) of theory and simulated tests, haha.
The most valuable lesson was that getting a system to run is not the same as obtaining a valid research result. I learned to record software versions and exact commands, verify receiver traffic and RF conditions, coordinate the use of shared laboratory hardware, and reject measurements when the evidence did not meet the acceptance criteria. This made me a more careful and independent engineer than when I first got here. Of course, a major part of that is also thanks to the very friendly people here at BMW lab who would help me with any nonsense I stirred up. or mundane steps I missed.
Weekly progress updates also improved my technical communication by teaching me to explain not only successful results, but also assumptions, blockers, limitations, and next actions. Working in an international research environment strengthened my confidence and patience when solving complex problems across many system layers.
Oh, outside world wise, I also think Taiwan is very nice. First thing is that it’s very clean, and everyone follows traffic really well. I also really like the public use Ubikes that me and my friends use everyday to go anywhere. Didn’t explore food too much while in here due to budget constraints, but it’s reasonably priced as well considering the variety.
I sincerely thank Prof. Ray, the BMW Lab mentors and other friends here at TEEP, NTUST, and the TEEP program for their guidance and support. This experience deepened my interest in O-RAN and energy-efficient wireless systems, and I will carry its emphasis on honest, reproducible evidence into my future studies and engineering work.

Hello, my name is Fathan, but my friends call me Ifan. I am a Computer Engineering student from Universitas Indonesia. I am very grateful for the opportunity to join the TEEP program at the Broadband Multimedia Wireless Laboratory, National Taiwan University of Science and Technology. Through this internship, I was able to experience a real research environment in Taiwan and work on a 5G security-related topic under the guidance of Prof. Ray and the BMW Lab members.
My project focused on PRACH attacker reproduction on OAI gNB testbeds. At first, the topic felt challenging because it required understanding 5G random access, OpenAirInterface, O-RAN hardware integration, shared lab hosts, and evidence collection at the same time. However, the process taught me how research work is actually done: reading previous work carefully, reproducing results step by step, respecting shared equipment, documenting every command and limitation, and being honest about what is completed and what is still blocked.
One of the most valuable parts of the internship was learning how to communicate technical progress clearly. The weekly meetings trained me to explain not only successful results, but also blockers, assumptions, and next actions. Working with mentors and other interns also helped me understand the importance of coordination, especially when experiments depend on shared hardware such as USRP B210, Pegatron O-RU, MTK UE/ELT, and Aerial/DGX resources.
Overall, TEEP has been a meaningful step in my academic journey. It strengthened my interest in wireless communication, open-source RAN systems, and research that connects practical experiments with careful documentation. I would like to sincerely thank Prof. Ray, Mr. Ian, Mr. Joshevan, Richard, Kevin, Kuan, Finn, my fellow interns, and everyone in BMW Lab for their guidance, support, and patience throughout this internship. I hope to carry the lessons from this experience into my final-year thesis and future research work.

Hello everyone, my name is Putri Kiara Salsabila Arief, a Computer Engineering student from University of Indonesia. I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to participate in the TEEP@AsiaPlus Program at the BMW Lab during my undergraduate studies. Over the past two months, I have learned an immense amount about telecommunication networks, specifically diving deep into the complexities of Wi-Fi 7 UORA mechanisms and ns-3 simulation. Working alongside brilliant mentors and fellow interns in a research-intensive environment has been an eye-opening experience. The guidance from Prof. Ray, Mr. Ian, Ms. Mira, and Mr. Will helped me bridge the gap between theoretical mathematical models and practical software simulations. I am thrilled to have contributed to this research and to have developed my skills in analytical modeling and system architecture. This internship has undoubtedly solidified my passion for telecommunications and equipped me with invaluable research experience for my future career.

Hello everyone, my name is Boni, a computer engineering student, currently serving as a research assistant intern here at BMW Lab, NTUST, under the TEEP program.
Coming to Taiwan was more than just an academic exchange for me. It was a door into a world I had only imagined from behind a laptop screen in Indonesia. Every conversation here, whether over lunch or during a late debugging session, became a small window into a culture, a mindset, and a way of thinking I had never encountered before. I found myself surrounded mostly by master's students, and honestly, that pushed me to grow faster than I expected, trading ideas, challenging assumptions, and chasing solutions together to problems none of us had fully solved before.
But if I'm being honest, the part that truly hooked me was getting hands-on access to the DGX Spark servers. Deploying LLMs locally, wrestling with memory constraints, learning to tame an environment that doesn't forgive shortcuts. That was where the real learning happened. I didn't just learn how to run a model; I learned how to make it think with memory, how to fuse LTM into an agent's reasoning, and shape it into something resembling a "brain" for Intent-Based Networking inside the SMO architecture. It's the kind of work that sounds abstract until you see it actually orchestrate a network and then it just clicks.
I want to extend my gratitude to everyone at BMW Lab who welcomed me into this journey for the patience, the guidance, and the late-night troubleshooting sessions that somehow always ended with a breakthrough. Taiwan has given me more than technical skills; it's given me a broader lens on what research collaboration across borders can look like. I'll carry this experience, the code, the culture, and the conversations long after I've left this lab.

Hello everyone, my name is Christian, a computer engineering student from University of Indonesia. I've been preparing for this internship opportunity at the BMW Lab since my first year of university. I can’t express how unreal it feels to finally step foot in this lab during the final year of my undergraduate studies. I have always been curious about Agentic AI from the past 2 years and I’m thrilled that I can dive even deeper into this at BMW Lab where I am collaborating on research of LLM for 5G configuration.
For the past two months I have learned a lot of telecommunications which I never learned before. I am now able to implement cutting-edge technologies within this space, and I look forward to expanding on this knowledge long after I return to Indonesia.
I also want to give a massive shoutout to my mentor, Johnson (Yao-Cong Dong), for being so welcoming and humorous since my very first day here. Connecting with a local has meant so much to me; sharing our cultures and exploring his food and travel recommendations have truly brought my trip to Taiwan to life. Beyond that, he is a fantastic mentor with incredible expertise, always ready to answer any question I have, no matter how small. I will deeply miss my time in Taiwan as a TEEP student, but I will carry these experiences and insights with me as I move forward in my career and future studies.

Hello everyone, my name is Nelson Laurensius, and I am very grateful for the opportunity to participate in the TEEP@AsiaPlus program at the BMW Laboratory, NTUST.
During this internship, I had the opportunity to learn and work in a real research environment. At the beginning, many of the technologies and systems were completely new to me, so the internship challenged me to learn quickly, ask questions, troubleshoot problems, and understand how different components work together.
One of the most valuable lessons I learned was that research is not only about getting something to work, but also about understanding why it works, documenting the process, and being honest about the limitations of the results. This experience helped me become more careful in approaching technical problems and more confident in discussing my work.
I would like to sincerely thank Prof. Ray, Mr. Ian, Mr. Joshevan, and all the lab members who guided and supported me throughout the internship. I am also grateful to the other interns and students for the discussions, collaboration, and good memories we shared.
Outside of the technical experience, living and studying in Taiwan was also a memorable part of this internship. I enjoyed experiencing the culture, food, transportation, and daily life here, as well as meeting people from different backgrounds.
Overall, this internship has been a valuable experience for both my technical and personal development. I am grateful for everything I learned and experienced during my time at NTUST, and I hope to carry these lessons with me in my future studies and career.
