Research Areas:
Open Radio Access Network (O-RAN)
Digital Twin Network for AI-native 6G/NTN/WiFi Systems
IoT technology and application
Our lab focuses on wireless and mobile networking technologies, including B5G/6G, Non-Terrestrial Networks (NTN), artificial intelligence, and the Internet of Things (IoT). Students take part in open-source base station projects such as OpenAirInterface (OAI) and the O-RAN Software Community (OSC). Through university–industry projects, they learn how to work with people from different fields and countries. System design, development, and testing also help them improve their software design, analysis, and optimization skills. Our goal is to train wireless communication software engineers for the industry.
High-performing NTUST undergraduate project students who select a Level 1 or higher project may apply for direct admission to our master’s program during the first semester of their senior year. With a recommendation from the professor, they may complete a three- to five-month paid internship at EURECOM during the second semester. EURECOM is located near Nice in Sophia Antipolis, often called the Silicon Valley of France. The internship provides a monthly allowance of EUR 1,200 and gives students real experience of living and working overseas.
Master’s students with a TOEIC score of 750 or higher may apply for a scholarship to join our department’s dual master’s degree program with Czech Technical University in Prague, a leading engineering university in the Czech Republic. Students can complete the program in 2.5 years and earn a degree recognized in the European Union.
After completing their coursework and master’s thesis, students may also be recommended for overseas internships at other open-source base station laboratories, including EURECOM in France, the FCC Lab at SUTD in Singapore, the ComNets Lab at TU Dresden in Germany, and the WiNES Lab at Northeastern University in the United States.
