Dear Families,
At CCHS, and across MUSD, we are committed to supporting every student on their path to graduation. This school year, we are introducing a new system for identifying student grade levels based on credits earned. Students will now be classified according to the number of credits they have completed, rather than just the year they entered high school.
This change is designed to give families and staff a clearer picture of where each student stands on the road to graduation and to ensure that we are providing the right support at the right time.
Beginning September 29, 2025, we will start holding meetings with students to review their credit progress and discuss next steps. Parent meetings with the principal and counselors will follow to make sure families are included in the planning process.
Our goal remains the same: for 100% of our seniors to graduate on time and walk the stage.
Thank you for partnering with us to make this happen

On September 11, our school community came together for a special 9/11 ceremony in remembrance of the lives lost and the heroic actions taken on that tragic day in 2001. Cadet Corp teacher, Contreras stated, "They are doing a nine 11 ceremony in remembrance of the day. The intent is to recognize first responders and people who gave their lives to save others." The event, which lasted approximately 30 to 40 minutes, will serve as a moment of reflection, respect, and unity for students, staff, and special guests alike.
On the day of the event, the student body played an active role in supporting the event, and Mojave JSHS came to participate as well. Guest speakers shared their thoughts and personal connections to the significance of 9/11, helping attendees understand the lasting impact the attacks had on our country. Their stories offered insight into the bravery and resilience that emerged during and after the tragedy, and reminded everyone why it is essential to continue honoring the lives of those who were lost and the sacrifices of our first responders.
Commemorating 9/11 was not just about looking back, it is about carrying forward the values of courage, selflessness, and community. By remembering this day, we ensured that future generations understood its significance and the importance of unity in the face of adversity. The ceremony was an opportunity for all to pause, reflect, and show gratitude for those who put others before themselves, many of whom paid the ultimate price.
The presence of students, faculty, and community members made the ceremony even more powerful. Seeing young people take part in honoring the memory of 9/11 showed that the spirit of remembrance and respect continues to thrive. The student-led contributions, whether through music, readings, or support roles, helped create a meaningful and heartfelt atmosphere throughout the event.
As we move forward, events like this serve as reminders that even in the darkest moments, acts of kindness, bravery, and unity can shine through. Honoring 9/11 each year is more than tradition —
it's a commitment to never forget, to educate others, and to carry on the legacy of those who showed the very best of humanity in the face of unthinkable tragedy.
