Complex Quantum Materials

Ramires' Group at PSI

I am a junior group leader within the Condensed Matter Theory group at the Paul Scherrer Institute in Villigen, Switzerland.

I am interested in understanding the electronic properties of complex quantum materials. I am particularly fascinated by the phenomenon of superconductivity. This is one of the best examples of the manifestation of quantum mechanics on a macroscopic scale. I theoretically devise new effective models and tools to guide us towards materials optimization and the discovery of new quantum phenomena in solid-state platforms.

My research is funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation through an Ambizione grant.

I am an active member of the Quantum Technologies Collaboration at PSI, and of the MaNEP Network.
