The School District is currently working on our first MN GreenStep Schools Project! At the moment we are working the creation and implementation of a Solid Waste Reduction Plan. This plan includes the use of standarized labels and bins for trash and recycling, education on how to recylce properly for our education system, and the implementation of the Food for Hogs Program at the Roseville Area Middle School and High School. 

As part of the Solid Waste Reduction Plan, Students for Climate Action worked with the District on a Waste Audit. For the Audit we went around the High School and dumped out trash and recycling bins from randomly selected classrooms. We then photographed the findings and are using the data to help assist the district in identifying weak points for students recycling properly. As part of this we also did a portion inside the lunch room to gain statistics on school lunch food waste for the implementation of the Food for Hogs program.
