Here you will find a self-reflection and self-care planner. The best way to utilize this planner is by printing it. However, if you wish to adjust it to your needs and likings, you can "make a copy" and use it as a Word or Google Docs document. You may use it for personal purposes.
Why do I ask about your favorite color and your favorite smell?
Color: According to Color Psychology, for some people, blue is a color that "calls to mind feelings of calmness and serenity".
Smell: Aroma compounds travel to the limbic system in the brain. According to Dr. Seladi-Schulman, "the limbic system is a group of interconnected structures located deep within the brain". It’s the part of the brain that’s responsible for behavioral and emotional responses. In other words, it is responsible to process feelings, moods, emotions, sexual behavior, and memories. Perhaps you can have a candle, some essential oils, or your favorite fragrance closely to aid your temporary feelings of discomfort, stress, or anxiety. Some aromas like lavender and eucalyptus can make you feel relaxed.
Final Message:
I hope you found great resources to guide you through the process of understanding different types of wellness and how to incorporate them in your classroom, as well as in the process of radicalizing your self-care strategies. Remember to always take care of yourself.
☺♥With respect, Kiria
