Range of motion (ROM) exercises are physical therapy exercises designed to improve or maintain the mobility and flexibility of a joint. They involve moving a joint through its full range of motion, which can be done actively by the individual, passively by an external force, or with assistance. The goal is to enhance joint function, reduce stiffness, improve muscle strength and endurance, and decrease the risk of further injury.
