The eJournal is the premier academic scholarly journal in the civic engagement space.  I have served the eJournal as a review corps member, manuscript reviewer, guest editor, and as an Executive Board member.  

Guest Editor: September 2024 edition, focused on mis- and dis-information during elections pivotal to democratic health

Executive Board member: February 2024-present

I have been involved in AASCU's American Democracy Project (ADP) from its inaugural in 2003.  Civic engagement is a core element of my personal academic mission, and ADP provides an outlet for best practices and leads efforts to enhance and institutionalize civic engagement at comprehensive universities across the country.

AASCU Emerging Leaders Program Cohort 2024

I have been affiliated with the New York Times since 2003, both as an advocate and consultant.

I have led coalitions to successfully advocate for institutions at which I am a faculty member to join the NYT College Network.

While at Fort Hays State, I led the Times Talk initiative, a brownbag lunch discussion of articles in the Times for which I have been recognized and won awards.

I have consulted with the NYT as a contributor to the NYT In Education program and conducted workshops for NYT Network universities on how to integrate the Times into their curriculum.
