UI/UX Strategy
There are two main UI/UX strategies for this website.
1. The website is designed to easily pick up the main point by using a variety of styles of text design, diagrams, and pictures. It is effective in keeping the audience's interest throughout the whole page for this complex topic and would help understand what is important for those who do not use English as their first language.
2. The design of this website tells the beauty of all skin colours and appearances. The beautiful pictures focused on body parts used in the headings were chosen to remind people to focus on the beauty of it, not the differences. Furthermore, colours that are close to skin colours are chosen for the background colours and the contrast of those colours represents the beauty of diversity in skin colours.
What is Racial Profiling?
-Racial profiling is suspecting or targeting an individual based on stereotypes about their race, ethnicity, nationality, language, religion, or combination of these. It negatively affects individuals emotionally, mentally, psychologically, financially, and physically in the worst cases. Why is this a serious issue in Japan? What are the causes of the issue? Take a look at the data below.
How racially diverse is Japan?
According to the Japanese government, only 2.3% of the population holds foreign nationality. Although this data does not reflect the actuality of the racial diversity in Japan, this is the only data on the ethnic population as the government does not collect any. However, it is still obvious that Japan is a homogenous country. Racial minorities in Japan can often experience discrimination such as harassment, microaggressions, and RACIAL PROFILING.
