We have discontinued support for Version 3 and it is no longer available for download or installation from Quiz Bowl Cowboys LLC as of June 1, 2026.  Here are some FAQ to help you:

Q: What does this mean?

A: It means that we will not be making any improvements to Version 3 of the software, and it is no longer available for download on our website.  We will be focusing our efforts on improving Version 4.  You may continue to use Version 3 if you already have it downloaded on your computer.  We will no longer offer the opportunity to reset licences for Version 3 to put on a new computer.

Q: Will my Slam-In Boxes work with Version 4?

A: Yes, absolutely.  The Slam-In Boxes are compatible with Version 4.  This involves changing one setting in Version 4 that's easy to do on your own.

Q: What if I have already upgraded my buzzers to the hand triggers or domes?
A: There is nothing more for you to do; you should already be in Version 4 and no action is necessary.

Q: What if I use QuizBowl PRO Online?

A: There is nothing more for you to do; this only applies to the Windows Desktop app we offer.

Q: If I want to get Version 4, what do I need to do?

A: We are making a special offer for customers who hold a valid licence for Version 3 only.  Contact info@quizbowlsystems.com to get details on how to get a FREE upgrade to Version 4 (for eligible Version 3 license holders only).  This offer will be extended through December 31, 2026; after that, an upgrade to Version 4 will be $49.

Q: Is Version 4 harder to use than Version 3?

A: No, Version 4 operates functionally the same way as Version 3; it just has some updated formats available (new IESA Bonus Rules, Iowa Quiz Bowl League rules) and some changes to the display and some scoring boxes to make it easier to read and use.

Q: How do I know which version I have?

A: If you have something earlier than Version 3, this means your software came on a jump drive instead of a download. Your software operates with a black background and digital numbers in the scoring boxes (7-segement display numbers).  

If you have Version 3, then you do not have the option "Devices" on your menu bar at the top of the screen and the default background color for the Play Screen and the Public Display is white.  

If you have Version 4, you will see "Devices" as part of the menu bar at the top of the screen.
