About us:

Jay Winter (left) has done just about everything there is to do in the quiz bowl world. Coach, circuit founder and leader, state finals moderator, and now co-owner of Quiz Bowl Cowboys LLC.  Jay's day job is teacher and quiz bowl coach at a high school in suburban Des Moines, IA, where he is also involved in the growth of quiz bowl across the Hawkeye state.  Jay was honored by PACE in 2023 with the prestigious Benjamin Cooper Academic Ambassador award for his contributions to the growth of quiz bowl in Iowa. In his spare time, Jay enjoys playing bridge, watching rodeo, coffee, cooking, working on house projects, and old game show reruns.

Dave Miller (right) hasn't met a piece of machinery or electronics that he didn't enjoy tinkering with, from taking apart his own mother's refrigerator at a young age to working on some of the heaviest industrial equipment around in addition to being a co-owner of Quiz Bowl Cowboys LLC. Dave has had a long career in diesel mechanics and currently holds a full-time position with a major engine company as a technician who performs upgrades to existing engines to meet customer needs. Dave enjoys working on house projects and spending time with his cat, Max.  His exprience going to college in Laramie, WY, is one of the inspirations behind our western theme.

Victor Kluck - AKA "Uncle Slam" (not pictured) - is a consultant to the Quiz Bowl Cowboys and the founder/first owner of the company known as Slammer Systems and Quiz Bowl Systems. Victor has enjoyed a long career in software development and entreprenurship. He currently enjoys bicycling (including completing Iowa's legendary RAGBRAI event) and the wonderful weather of Florida's Gulf Coast.
