My partner and I designed and created an arcade machine. It started with a kit with: buttons, wires, two circuit boards and a raspberry pi. It was a kit for a two player machine, so we each put one set together. My partner and I designed an arcade box in fusion 360; I created stickers for the buttons of the machine using adobe illustrator and the cricket design space. I used the same tools to create a sticker for the marquee of our machine. It was then sent over to a website known as glow-forge to be engraved, using a laser cutter, on a piece of acrylic. We then cut out where the buttons would be placed on a piece of clear acrylic so that the bottom would be see through. When the box was done in the design space of fusion, I took over for the manufacturing part. To cut the box out of wood we used a CNC machine. I used fusion 360's manufacturing space to create the way the CNC would cut the wood, this include: speed, path of travel, how many cuts and more. I then exported the G code on to a flash drive and moved it on to the CNC where it was now ready to be cut. The cutting process took a little over to weeks but when it was done we were ready to assemble. We took all the pieces and used a nail gun to put them all together. When it was all cut out we covered it in black Vinyl and red electrical tape on the edges. On the actual gaming side of things I download over 5000 ROMS onto a flash drive from an old arcade machine, so that ours has plenty hours of fun stored in it. To make the Machine look more aesthetically pleasing I started to create decals of our favorite retro video game characters and maybe yours is even yours too. I used the cricket once again to create them and then stuck it on the two sides of the machine to finally complete our own Arcade Machine.

This is something that I can say I am proud of making. It incorporates my love for video games and my love for engineering. I want to continue making these types of projects and improve my skills of creating with each step. I love making things that I can enjoy and be proud of but also the fact that others will be inspired by it and gain entertainment out of it tops the bar so much. This by far has been my favorite project I have made and i can't wait to make a new favorite.
