Colour Tents

Suzanne Little is a special needs teacher with twenty years experience of working with young people with multiple disabilities and visual impairment. This experience has led her to develop the use of colour tents for children with profound cerebral visual impairment. The tents provide a calm environment in which extraneous stimulation is removed and this allows a child to engage with their vision often for the first time. This tent also has potential to offer a calm place for young adults with complex needs and visual impairment as well as a calm place for anyone experiencing sensory overload for other areas of special needs. Creating opportunities for empowerment through : unlocking potential

To help to learn and have a good time

In essence its simple, not hard to explain

As everything needs to be seen

It needs to be heard and simplified well

So learning takes place like a dream

So what we need to do, to bring that about

Is make sure that there aren’t any learning blocks

One cannot learn from what is not seen

But to see, hear and master UNLOCKS
