Samuel Mann

Samuel Mann is currently a Postdoctoral Researcher at Vanderbilt University in the Department of Economics and LGBT+ Policy Lab. Having completed his PhD at Swansea University, Samuel has since held positions at Swansea University, the Welsh Institute of Social and Economic Research, Data and Methods, and the Open University.


Samuel is an Applied Micro-Economist with a focus on Labor Economics, Health Economics, and LGBTQ+ Economics. Broadly, my research studies the health and labour market outcomes of LGBTQ+ people and the role of policies in reducing these differentials. Samuel has also previously been published in journals such as Labour Economics, Economic Letters and Work, Employment, and Society.


Samuel was involved in the development and delivery of the Queer Populations, Perspectives and Policies conference, co-hosted with Dr Lee Gregory which was the forerunner of QPaP.
