Stake seminary teachers are supported by and under the direction of full-time S&I personnel and/or stake seminary supervisors. Each stake seminary teacher may access a digital copy of the: Teaching in the Saviour's Way (TSW). They should be familiar with its contents and refer to it regularly. The TSW and supporting resources in the Gospel Library form the basis for the orientation and support of stake seminary teachers (this includes the teacher learning resources available online – see below).
Ongoing learning - As part of your calling, you are invited to engage with regular teaching tips, Teaching in the Saviour’s Way discussions and various stake and multi-stake gatherings:
Teaching Tips: Each week the teacher manual will model a Teaching Tip which can help you improve your teaching. Practice implementing the tip each week in your lessons.
Teaching in the Saviour’s Way Discussion: You will have the opportunity to meet regularly by phone or virtually with your S&I Coordinator to counsel together how best to bless your students by teaching more like the Saviour.
Multi-Stake Gatherings: Three times a year you will meet with local seminary teachers for multi-stake training.
Stake Faculty Training: Stake leaders will invite you to participate in at least two stake-based training experiences.
As a new seminary teacher, you will receive an email from S&I Canvas, inviting you to participate in our online teacher course. New teachers would benefit from completing the Annual Training before commencing teaching seminary. All teachers are encouraged to review this training regularly.
To access the course, click on the link in the email or go to https://silearn.ChurchofJesusChrist.org/.
