Study the introduction to the Seminary Teacher Manual. Familiarise yourself with some of the tools included in the manual, such as the Objective of Seminaries and Institutes of Religion (S&I).
Obtain a lesson pacing guide for your local seminary schedule from your S&I coordinator or program administrator.
Use this pacing guide to identify the next lesson you will teach.
This manual is organised into two main sections:
Scripture Course lessons, which correspond to the Come, Follow Me study material for each week.
Life Preparation lessons, which are designed to help students prepare for challenging situations they currently face or may soon face.
Each Come, Follow Me week and Life Preparation category contains an overview page. The overview pages include:
Lesson purposes.
Student preparation ideas.
Materials from the lesson that may require advanced notice to prepare, such as object lesson ideas, suggested handouts, images, and videos.
A typical seminary class could follow an agenda similar to the following:
Welcome students (2–3 minutes)
Devotional (8–10 minutes)
