Code of Conduct
Zero Tolerance Policy
- Zero Tolerance Policy - Any violation of the Rules of Conduct, rules that govern the behavior of players,coaches and parents that is described in the Age Division section or any behavior that is detrimental to the reputation of the PYBA or jeopardizes our relationship with our sponsors or our standing with the PISD will not be allowed and may result in being permanently banned from the League depending on its severity. Destruction or defacing of School property is prohibited. Pflugerville ISD is providing us the opportunity to rent their gyms and we must make every effort to not jeopardize our relationship for without their support the league would not exist today.
- Coaches are responsible for the conduct of his/her assistant coach, players, parents and spectators associated with his/her team. No outside basketballs will be allowed in the school on Game Day. The coach is responsible to make sure the play and practice areas are safe to play in. Unsportsmanlike behavior will result in a warning, or a 2-shot technical foul against the coach OR ejection from the gym of the coach and any other individuals associated with the incident(s) depending on the severity of the situation as determined by the referee(s), league VP or league President that is presiding over the game.
- Coaches, parents and spectators may not go onto the court during or after a game to dispute, argue or discuss a call or decision of the referee(s), except in the case of an injury. Violation will result in an immediate 2-shot technical if the game is in progress. If the game is complete, then the league VPs, President and referee(s) have the right to make a decision on the severity of the confrontation which could result in game forfeiture(s), probation of the people involved, same game forfeiture or a warning.
- Physical confrontations or profanity by players, coaches or spectators will not be tolerated and will be handled as stated in Rule #2.
- Any disputes to the PYBA Playing Rules or Rules of Conduct must be presented in writing within 24 hours of the incident. If possible, please e-mail to the league’s e-mail address (pyba78660@gmail.com). Mark the e-mail as “Confidential.” The VPs, league President, referee(s) and any witnesses necessary to make a fair determination will have their testimony solicited and a determination will be made in writing within 48 hours if possible.
NOTE:
- Our referees will make calls and decisions that not everyone will agree with.
- Please remember that our children are watching our actions.
- Our motto is: “It’s a KID’S game!”
- Please encourage your children, but don’t undermine why we’re all here … and that’s for our KIDS!!!
