Extension program faces the difficult challenges of being creative in their development efforts and responsive to the needs of rural communities. A way to overcome these challenges is to look at different program development ideas and approaches, analyzing how they function in practice, as well as their advantages and disadvantages.
An extension program is imperative where it plays a catalytic role in development. The transformatory content and intention are important in committing quality output. The Department of Advertising and Public Relations came up with an extension project to bring about desirable changes that will improve the skills of the Urban Poor Association (UPA) participants to better promote their advocacy thru training via the zoom platform.
The College of Communication Extension Program through “Salikhabong” is envisioned to bring out the best possible way to produce a campaign for the Urban Poor Association. These identified beneficiaries are expected to improve primarily, their creative abilities in doing publication materials and creative through the gradual accumulation of additional layers of information.
Objectives:
1. Conduct training for the Urban Poor Associates to identify areas that need to be improved with their campaigns.
2. Assign faculty experts as extension volunteers who will serve as lecturers, trainors, facilitators, moderators, and organizers, together with some student leaders as technical support and researcher to cooperate in carrying out the capacity building project and activities.
3. Enable the partner beneficiaries to produce their outputs from the series of training that they will have to undertake.
Report of Proceedings:
On August 7, 2021, the Department of Advertising and Public Relations conducted its first Zoom webinar with the Urban Poor association where topics such as The Value of Values Advertising, Photography: Compositional Techniques, Photojournalism was discussed by our experienced faculty Mr. Rey Guerzon, Mr, Jophel Ybiosa and guest speaker Mr. Jhon Marlou Abcede.
