Hang out in our historic house and peaceful garden, where we serve coffee, smoothies, and vegetarian/vegan meals. Check out our book exchange, tour information, and even borrow a guitar or uke to strum in a hammock or in our air-conditioned library, all run with solar power!
Chat with a local! You might see people learning English or kids getting after-school tutoring. It's as much a community center as it is a cafe and restaurant.
Open 9-7 Monday-Saturday December 15-February 28, (9-5 in the low season), closed Sundays. We are located one block north of the Central Park in Altagracia, one additional block to the west of the main bus stop.
Our high-season menu (November-March) is shown here. We specialize in locally grown, organic coffee, cold drinks and smoothies, and vegetarian/vegan items. Look for specials, and ask about local, non-vegetarian options--especially during the low season.
Note that fruits such as jackfruit, starfruit, miracle fruit, and some of our limes, bananas, plantains, and coconuts are grown in our lovely garden depending on the season. Other products such as chaya leaves, butterfly pea flowers, and salad greens including katuk and rose cactus leaves are also gathered here. You are also welcome to tour the garden and see where your food comes from.
You can also make a deposit in our composting toilet, which eventually becomes fertilizer to complete the cycle of nutrients and remove strain from our septic tank.
