The Puerto Rican parrot is prayed by the Red-Tail Hawk (Buteo Jamaicensis) and some other predators such as honeybees, rats, Indian Mongooses and Pearly-eyed trasher (Margarops fuscatus) it also involves a competition for nesting cavities, or it can also involve the predator to eat the eggs. Other predator that can be dangerous near to the bird is the Puerto Rican Boa (Chilabothrus inornatus) which is also an endemic boa species from the archipelago of Puerto Rico.
Besides predators, other animals can be found near the Puerto Rican Amazon, these are mostly peaceful which includes the Common Coqui (Eleutherodactylus coqui) This species of coqui is listed as Least Concerned in the IUCN Red List. The Puerto Rican Crested Toad (Bufo Lemur) and Golden Coquí (Eleutherodactylus jasperi) that are endemic species of Puerto Rico are listed as Critically Endangered in IUCN Red List.
