Why to become a member?
Sign the PTFA/OEA/NEA membership form.
We negotiate your contract with the college on your behalf.
The greater the support from our members, the stronger our position in contract negotiations.
We represent and support you when you have issues with the administration or working conditions.
We are your voice to the Administration and the Board of Education.
We appoint members to councils and committees which allows our participation in College governance.
Members may vote on tentative contract agreements, officer elections, and changes to the bylaws.
Members participate in Association governance.
How can you become a member of the Part-Time Faculty Association?
You are eligible if you are a part-time faculty teaching any WCE or credits in a term.
Fill out and submit the PTFA/OEA/NEA membership form.
PTFA dues of $15 per term are collected from our members.
OEA dues are a percent of your earnings in a term.
NEA dues are based on how many FTE you teach in a given term.

The president is considered the “Face of the Part-Time Faculty Association” and is responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with members of the Part-Time Faculty Association, administration, and other associations on campus.

The Vice President of Membership is responsible for keeping a current list of members, and working with councillors and committee members, as well as organizing events like orientation and retreat.

The Vice President of Professional Relations acts as an official representative of the Part-Time Faculty Association on any occasion when representation is requested by an association member in invoking their Weingarten rights.

The Treasurer ensures that the PTFA is a good steward of our members’ dues, and provides oversight of fiscal integrity.

The Secretary is in charge of meetings, document management, elections, and the website for the Part-Time Faculty Association. The Secretary records attendance of members, collects minutes from the college committee representatives, records minutes of all Association meetings, and maintains operational procedures.
