If when you select the update option it could display 'msg_system_update' like this example image, this mean that your system was modded at some point and an update blocker was put in place and will make things a little tricky.
How we proceed from here will depend on your current setup so read and select the option which fits your condition
This should be nice and simple.
If you have booted your device while holding the L-Trigger to show the update status then reboot normally so we can use the homebrew apps.
To remove the blocks we need to install 'Update Blocker', you can either manually download the .vpk on your phone or computer (site link) then transfer and install it as you normally would, or if your on 3.65 or above then you could simply use the 'Browser' app to install the 'Quick App Downloader' to get the update blocker app
Not a problem.
Because you have 3.65 or above, this mean you should be able to use your 'Browser' app to install the 'Quick App Downloader' to then get the update blocker app. Alternitively you should be able to just Jailbreak the system fully from its current software version
This will be a little tricky
Because you have 3.60 and your update ability is blocked, this mean you cant use the Quick App Downloader site as it requires 3.65 or above, so you will need to use an older jailbreak method to temporarily mod the system to allow you to install the update blocker
There are two main ways to do this, one is by using a tool on the PC called FinalHE and another is by using the Henkaku website on the device itself. The FinalHE that ive linked includes the Update Blocker app but for the manual download you can find the .VPK (here)
Both of these methods will NEED an official Sony storage to work (or the internal 1gb already unlocked) and ideally a PC for the FinalHE app or file transfers.
for the moment, if you need more information on either of these two method and how to remove the update block then reach out to us on the Facebook page and we will guide you the best we can..
