This section will focus on how to earn volunteer hours, minority scholarships, colleges that offer full rides, how to create a scholarship resume and scholarship videos provided by Princeton Review.
Do you know what you want to be when you grow up? In middle school, students should begin refining their career exploration to match their interests and abilities. Middle school is not too early to encourage students to look at career paths and explore the possibilities that may still be years away. Now is the time to create a path to college and career success.
If students have questions about their future career aspirations, this section will assist them with Career Planning, their Career Search, introduce them to STEM/STEAM Careers that are on the rise and highlight the opportunity for students to participate in Virtual Job Shadowing.
Do you have a love of reading? Are you interested in having a discussion about a book you have read? Join the Principal's Scholars Reading Club!
This month, the Reading Club will be listening to the audio book and discussing "On the Come Up" by Angie Thomas.
"On the Come Up" is about 16-year-old Brianna, or Bri, a committed hip-hop head and aspiring rapper. Bri dreams of living up to the example of her dead father, an acclaimed underground rapper who was on the cusp of mainstream fame when he was killed by a gang. Bri also dreams of providing for her family, who are only just barely able to get by on her mother’s church secretary salary and the wages her older brother Trey is able to scrape together at the local pizza place. Bri figures the best way for her to do both is to become a rapper herself.
