Possible Formats

We call for satellite events, 2-hour long symposia, individual talks and posters.

Satellite events

On September 12th and 13th, 2019, a limited amount of spaces are made freely available to organize satellite events. Such events can include half or full day symposia, speed courses, workshops, etc. on topics relevant for the Protolang community. If you are interested in organizing a satellite event, then please contact the organization directly with a one-page long proposal.

Symposia

Symposia can last up to 2 hours and the organizers decide on the format (e.g. 6 times 20 minute long presentations, 4 times 30 minute long presentations, a 1 hour long presentation followed by commentaries or regular talks, etc.). The organizers are responsible for submitting the full symposium program on EasyChair, which includes the symposium abstract (150 words) as well as all abstracts of the individual talks (100 words each).

Individual Talks and Posters

Abstracts for both talks and posters can be 150 words long, and they can also be submitted on EasyChair. Poster presenters are expected to be present during the poster session. If you feel your talk would fit well into one of the invited symposia, then you can make that known in your abstract and we will pass it on to the organizers. Acceptance to that particular symposium will depend upon availability of space, and rejection from a symposium does not imply rejection from participation in the conference. The abstract will be reviewed for a regular talk instead.

We ask that all participants limit their contributions to maximally 2 of the above formats.

Poster Format

Presenters are advised to prepare their posters in portrait format along the following dimensions: Width 90 cm, Height 120 cm.
