The study week is a key component of the ProPIC project. As part of the study programme, the prospective teachers will visit one of the other partner institutions. During the study week the prospective teachers visit schools, get to know teachers and the teacher training system of the other countries and take part in other activities organised by the teacher educators. However, most importantly, they will get the opportunity to meet and collaborate with international students and professionals. Hereby, they can present, discuss and connect over their own research projects, giving them new perspectives or even cooperation opportunities to continue their work at home.
In this first edition of ProPIC we are sending six prospective teachers to England (3) and Spain (3) and we will receive four students from Germany (1) and Spain (3).
The study week in Kiel will focus on three areas: a) fostering the development of the prospective teachers' continuing professional development, b) providing support regarding the prospective teachers' research project and c) using digital resources to document and reflect on learning along the study week. For that we have planned a series of activities inside and outside the university, which include interviews to in-service teachers, two school visits, one classroom observation, attending a conference on digital technologies at school, a coaching session with an expert on research-oriented learning and teaching. We are going to experience this and much more!
We will produce a short video of the study week where we will document the most significant activities for our professional development. There will be also space for feedback and discussion about the activities. This will help us improve the course in the next editions.
Our course will take place in the Leibnizstrasse 10, room 101 (first floor). There is a cafeteria and a food court (Mensa II) very close to our building. Many activities will be conducted outside the university campus. You can find information about the locations in the section Activities.
