Evaluation

Here you find information about the different elements that comprise the course evaluation for the Summer term 2018. The course "Teachers as learners: Media supported collaborative professional development in the context of second language learning and teaching" has two parts: course I (the compact week in Kiel) and course II (the study week as well as the development and presentation of your research project). The following figure shows you these two elements and one final component that is optional for you, which is the final conference in Karlsruhe in July 2020. At this open conference you can have the opportunity to showcase your research project to a wider audience.

Important dates:

Course I: August 06.-10. 2018 (32. week)
Online coaching: to be arranged with the PT
Deadline for submission of research project (proposal): Sunday August 26. 2018 (34. week)
Study week: September 10.-14. 2018 (37. week)
Consultations at the office (R.120): to be arranged with the PT
Deadline for submission of e-portfolio and completed research project: Sunday September 30. 2018 (39. week)
All grades have to be submitted by November 30. 2018

Evaluation of course I

Course I is the equivalent of E-FD-33-1D (2,5 CP * 2= 5CP) for students of English and FD 3.2 (5 CP) for students of Spanish/French. We evaluate two elements in this course:

Your ePortfolio (60%) including activities that are proposed in the interactive tutorials (IT). Remember that there are 5 mandatory IT and one optional.
Your intended research project (40%) . Remember that this is a small-scale effort with the ultimate goal of getting new insights into your (future) work field. You will explore your field as a researcher. You search for related studies and literature that are useful for your quest and at the same time you gather the necessary data that will help you answer your leading question. Evaluation of course II

Course II, specifically the study week is the equivalent of Projektmodul IK 4.1b for students of Spanish/French. We evaluate two elements in this course:

Your creative product (60%): the finished digital output that you developed along the course (website, video production, eBook, etc.). This product will be presented to the group. We will have a meeting with all course participants (see important dates) to watch the different outputs and discuss their results and process.
Documentation of your finished research project (40%) . Remember that this is a small-scale effort with the ultimate goal of getting new insights into your (future) work field. You will explore your field as a researcher. You search for related studies and literature that are useful for your quest and at the same time you gather the necessary data that will help you answer your leading question.
