A week away and a two-month stay both start the same way on Airalo: pick a destination, pick a package, pay. The difference is that every Airalo package carries a fixed data allowance and a validity window measured in days, and unused data does not roll over once that window closes. For a long trip you are therefore not just choosing a price, you are choosing how many days of cover you get before you have to add more data or buy again. The promotion code EDCC10 takes 10% off the plan price shown in the store, and that is all it touches: not the allowance, not the number of validity days.
Airalo is a marketplace that resells prepaid data from local operators as eSIM profiles, sold through airalo.com and the iOS and Android apps. There is no physical shipping; delivery is a QR code or a direct install link, and purchased profiles sit under My eSIMs.
The mechanics are the same regardless of trip length:
Create or sign in to an Airalo account before you start the purchase, using email, Google or Apple sign-in.
Search the destination, open the plan and confirm the data allowance and validity window.
Tap Buy Now to reach the order summary or payment screen.
Expand the promo code row — in the app a tappable row with a tag or ticket icon above the total, on the web a text box in the order summary panel — and enter EDCC10 exactly, with no spaces.
Apply it and check that a discount line appears and the total drops by 10%.
Pay by card or wallet, then install from My eSIMs by direct install or QR code and SM-DP+ address.
The code has to be applied before payment. It cannot be added to a completed order afterwards, and there is no reliable route to having 10% credited back once you have paid full price.
Because the discount is tied to price alone, a long stay still needs the same arithmetic on days. Validity generally begins when the eSIM first connects to a network at the destination rather than at purchase, although published descriptions differ on whether some plans start at installation, so the plan detail page is worth reading. This is why installing at home over Wi-Fi, keeping the line off until arrival, and only enabling Data Roaming for the Airalo line after landing is the usual sequence. It also means a discounted plan bought weeks in advance is not quietly burning days in your pocket.
When data runs low, top-ups are bought from My eSIMs rather than by buying a fresh profile. Whether EDCC10 is eligible on top-ups is not published, and Airalo states that eligibility on top-ups, and on store credit or gift-card purchases, can differ from new plan purchases. Promotional codes are generally intended for new eSIM purchases through standard checkout. The practical test is to enter the code and watch the total: if no discount line appears, it has not applied.
Since codes on the platform are typically single-use per account, and it is not published whether EDCC10 is single-use or reusable on later orders, a long-stay traveller may only get one bite. With plans typically priced in single or low double-digit dollars — roughly $5 for a small plan, around $20 for a mid-sized regional plan — 10% is worth more on the larger order. Assume one code per order and no stacking with other offers or active sales.
Keep the same account for the whole trip: an Airalo account is needed in practice so eSIMs can be reinstalled or topped up, and the receipt arrives by email. Refunds on a discounted order return the amount paid, not the pre-discount price, and the voucher does not come back. Creating duplicate accounts to reuse a single-use voucher breaches retailer terms and risks the accounts. Bank foreign transaction fees and exchange rates sit outside checkout and are not reduced by the code.
