Dynamic stretching involves actively moving your muscles and joints through a full range of motion to warm up and increase flexibility. Unlike static stretching, where you hold a stretch in a stationary position for an extended period, dynamic stretching incorporates movement during the stretching process.
华中八戒超 incorporates some form of dynamic stretching and warm up, however, most of the exercises are static stretching.
Sports science studies and research show that dynamic stretching is superior to static stretching, due to the following:
Dynamic stretching VS Static stretching
Dynamic stretching allows for circulation of blood in our limbs and core, while static stretching suppresses circulation due to the lengthened muscle position
Dynamic stretching retains the stretch reflex and elasticity of the muscles, while static stretching inhibits that, reducing athletic performance
Hence we have decided to design a superior warm up. Hopefully the PE department replaces the infamous 华中八戒超。We will miss you(or not).
Warm Up (5 min)
10 reps of Front Leg Swings each leg
10 reps of Side Leg Swings each leg
10 reps of neck rotations
10 reps of wrist and ankle rotations
10 reps of squats
