Whether you're looking to strengthen your credentials as an educator or pursue certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), Project ABA can help you take the next step in your professional journey.
Please Note: There is a service obligation of two years for every year of funding after graduation. To satisfy this service obligation, you must be working with students with an IEP. For more information, visit https://pdp.ed.gov/OSEP/Home/faq2006
Project ABA has developed procedures that have been specifically designed to promote and foster the recruitment, participation, membership, and preparation of students from underrepresented populations including persons from culturally and linguistically diverse groups. Emphasis is also placed on accommodating the special needs of students with disabilities. Efforts will be focused on facilitating students’ full participation in the project.
Orlando and its surrounding areas offer a wide variety of opportunities for relevant experiences in the field. The University of Central Florida has agreements with several off campus sites including public and private schools, professional organizations, and local, state, and private education agencies.
The ABA Certificate does not directly certify individuals in Applied Behavior Analysis; however, it can be listed as a Graduate Certificate in ABA as part of one's credentials. Completion of the certificate meets the coursework requirements for eligibility for National Board Certification as a Behavior Analyst. This program has potential ties to state-regulated professional licensure or certification in the field. For more information on how this program may prepare you in that regard, please visit https://apq.ucf.edu/files/Licensure-Disclosure-CCIE-Applied-Behavior-Analysis-GC.pdf. We advise you to review the educational certification requirements through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board, Inc. (BACB) at https://www.bacb.com/bcba/. This program is approved by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board but does not directly certify individuals in Applied Behavior Analysis.
Project ABA serves to provide enhanced support to beginning special education teachers through personalized guidance and faculty support throughout the program.
