The human body is trained to think. We are always thinking about something or have something on our minds at all times. While it's usually useful to help you stay at a task you need to complete, it can sometimes be harmful. This doesn't mean that thinking is bad it's nessacary to survive and grow, but what needs to be cut down on is negative thinking.
Often It can be difficult with the wide variety of things you may be going through, but it is important to focus on the positives of your life. Focus on the things that really matter. The things that make positive change.
Getting a positive mindset will never be easy with all the struggles life brings, but when completed it will make a significant difference in your life.
There are several ways to clear your mind to get into a positive mindset including Meditation, Yoga, and ASMR.
Take naps. A 10-20 minute nap gives you mental alertness and lets you feel rejuvenated
Think of things to be thankful for. You might feel scared or anxious abot what will happen next, but if you realize what you have and how much you have, you will feel more relieved.
Question why you feel anxious. Is the worry realistic? What would make you feel better about what you are worried about?
Drink water. studies have shown that dehydration can cause the bravest of people to worry about the simplest things. Drinking water will make you feel better
Exercise. While this isn’t as useful as napping or drinking water, releasing endorphins will relieve stress and make you feel happier.
While this might be hard as it was for me too, limiting screen time can prove to be very helpful to your mental health. That includes listening to music.
Something I have found to be very useful when meditating, or going to sleep is to listen to wordless music or ambient music.

Stress is often a very hard topic to cover as most adults think we're being dramatic with the workload we get, but often it is very extensive, and with the added bonus of stress from maintaining status at school, everything piles up. Honestly, I think we as youth have a much harder time dealing with stress, since social stress has a much greater effect with being excluded from things, or just generally not being liked.
Dealing with stress is good, but can sometimes be carried out badly in the form of breaking things, or turning to drugs which would be very bad for your body and mind. Here I'm gonna show you safe practices to deal with stress
Write it out
Writing or typing your thoughts and emotions is an amazing way to deal with stress. It can also help you visualize what your main stressors are, and bring clarity to your stress. Journaling your experience is one of the easiest methods of dealing with a situation. Writing can be done anywhere as long as you have writing utensils. Let writing be your therapy.
Draw, Paint, Color
Much like writing, drawing is a powerful creative outlet. Whether you’re drawing from real-life, abstract, or some sort of combination, art is therapeutic. Experimenting with color, style, and patterns will give you a greater variety of aesthetics to look over. Art can easily transport a person to another place and time. When dealing with stress, “transporting” to another space is a happy distraction.
DIY Projects
I used to spend so much time stressing over how much work I had with homework, extracurriculars, and social stress thinking of status. I cannot say how much making time to do DIY projects helped. Whether it was going on a cad site to design something, origami, or just looking up a youtube tutorial for small crafts, they completely took my mind off what was stressing me.
Listen to Music
Music can and will always elevate your mood if it's something you like. Lower on the ASMR page I have some playlists I made that I think you'll like. There are also many types of music you may not have heard yet, that you might grow to love, each type can make you feel a certain way. Ambient or instrumental music lets your thoughts wander without specifically directing them. Dance, reggae, and other upbeat music gets you moving. similarly to the other ones listed, making and doing can help reduce stress, so maybe try learning an instrument.
Cook or Bake
I remember how I used to cry on my bedroom floor while aimlessly scrolling on Tik Tok when I was really stressed and overwhelmed. I then did this one-week cooking gig that I had a lot of fun at. It may be counterintuitive, but after getting back, I would always just do dishes, cook, and back to cool down when I felt sad or stressed. It made me way more productive, as I was making myself food, and would waste hours in the past being stressed, but took 45 minutes to cook myself a meal and clear my mind to work on something else again.
I speak for most people when I say like is really freaking hard. Everyday ther will be a curveball thrown right at you that you don't know how to dodge, or a bana peel you slip on that will make you land flat on your face. Honestly, from my experience, it doesn't get better, you have to get stronger. Wherever you go, there will always be idiots that will annoy and mentally abuse you. If you let them control your life, then you'll get nowhere. There is no shame in being weak, the shame is in staying weak, so sometimes you have to take the hits and show them how big you'll make it one day.
A page I really like that gives almost daily inspiration quotes is @mentality on Instagram.
Overall, Mindfulness is not easy to manage, but if you control your stress, meditate, and do some other things that are a part of this page, you'll definitely feel better
