Applying Grammatical Signals and Patterns of Idea Development in Essay Writing

Instructions:

1. Divide the class into 6 groups.

2. Select a group leader for each group.

3. Assign each group the following:

• Group 1 – General to Particular, Topic: Philippine Culture

• Group 2 – Claim and Counterclaim, Topic: Original Filipino Music (OPM)

• Group 3 – Cause and Effect, Topic: Philippine Corruption

• Group 4 – Problem and Solution, Topic: Low Reading Comprehension

• Group 5 – Claim and Counterclaim, Topic: Artificial Intelligence (A.I.)

• Group 6 – Problem and Solution, Topic: Social Media Addiction

4. Write an essay applying the appropriate grammatical signals according to your assigned pattern of idea development.

5. The essay must contain an Introduction, Body, and Conclusion. Each paragraph must contain 3 or more sentences.

6. This Performance Task is type-written and printed on a short bond paper. Follow this particular format:

• Text Alignment: Justified
