Call for Papers

Please consider submitting a paper for the 2022 Issue of Progressions. All aspects of PLTL are appropriate: Effectiveness of PLTL, materials for PLTL, methods for peer-leader training, etc. We encourage submissions by peer-leaders, as well as student oriented research. Submissions can be in various formats (Google doc, Word, etc) but will finally converted into an RMarkdown document. Contact David Gosser at gosserch@gmail.com for inquiries.

Most Cited Article: The PLTL Boost: A Critical Review of Research

Progressions has evolved from a Journal exclusively engaged with Peer-led Team Learning (PLTL) to one that is concerned not only with all things PLTL but also increasingly with the exploration of new visions of content in undergraduate science education. Instructional content has lagged far behind current research. Textbooks often copy one another - a fact that Steven J. Gould wrote about in the The Case of the Creeping Fox Terrier Clone where he traced to 1904 the incorrect claim that the prehistoric horses were the size of "fox terriers". Progressions is strongly focused on publishing thorough accounts of subjects that "should" be in the curriculum. Content that:

Reflects current research
Is interdisciplinary
Engages with the environmental crisis
Connects science and society
Describes technologies to empower students
