A Professional Learning Network (PLN) is s tool that allows educators to connect and collaborate with colleagues from anywhere at any time. Those engaging in the PLN are able to use technology, specifically social media, to share resources (Whitby 2013).
Benefits of PLNs:
Social media widens teachers' PLN from those in their buildings to educators from around the world. That expansion allows teachers to discover more high quality resources and connect with exports on those resources. When educators are willing to explore social media to improve their teaching, benefits trickle down to their students' learning experiences (Gover 2017).

Twitter allows teachers to find and share resources by following other educators or the resources themselves. Explore by searching for organizations and resources you know or search hashtags like #edchats
Whether you are joining groups with other teachers to support and share or creating a classroom to share what you are doing in your classroom, Facebook is a great format for teachers to connect. It is a great way to reach out to parents.
Instagram is perfect for discovering other educators that share your interests. This platform is perfect for visual learners! Simply search a hashtag and join a community!
Kahoot! is a game-based learning resource that is free for teachers and students. You can select from premade activities or create games based specifically for your class. This is a great way to informally assess your students!
This is a great resource for Special Education. LessonPix allows teachers to create customized symbol supports for student needs. LessonPix's Sharing Center allows teachers to share classroom resources with their peers. This resources does require a subscription. If you are interested, please contact Student Support Services.
Pear Deck was built by teachers to improve student participation through establishing collaborative learning environments. Perfect for collecting data while encouraging student creativity.
