How many times have you sat in a professional development session and thought to yourself “Why am I here? This doesn’t apply to me.”? Too often we are asked to sit in PD sessions that do not engage us as teachers and do not benefit our students. This year our goal is to change that. In order to support teacher growth and student achievement, we need to establish quality professional development (Kinloch & Dixon, 2018). We want to give teachers the opportunity to have a say and explore topics that are relevant to them when it works for them. To do this we have created a Professional Development website where staff and administration can add resources and content that can be shared throughout the district.
