My Digital Footprint

When I searched my name online, I found a lot of different things that make up my digital footprint:

• Social Media: All my social media accounts came up in the first few results. It displays my public posts, but I've noticed that some older photos no longer accurately represent me. I updated my privacy settings and deleted a few images.

• Writing Activities: Articles I wrote years ago came up! I was shocked! There was also an article I wrote for my old school paper. 

• Random Mentions: There was a listing from a weightlifting event I recently competed in. I didn't expect that.  

What I Learned

My online image is shaped by both what I post and what others post about me.

Privacy settings matter! I adjusted them right away after doing this assignment!

I need to be more intentional about what I post online, as future employers or schools may view it.
