When I started Unit 0, I thought it would just be “busy work,” but I actually learned a great deal about how the systems at CCBC connect and the importance of email.
Started keeping notes and defined interface terms.
Explored Brightspace and noticed how LMSs communicate information
Registered in SIMnet and finished the Essentials SIMpath and Outlook practice.
Wrote and submitted a professional email, then discussed email dos and don’ts with classmates.
Learned key terms like Information System, LMS, CC, BCC, and hamburger menu.
Brightspace appears differently for every class, so I’ll need to adapt accordingly depending on the professor.
I knew how to send an email before, but writing one in a professional style is different (subject lines really matter).
The terms “waffle” and “hamburger” for menus were new to me!
How to make a signature file!
Coolest thing I learned... my signature file!
Unit 0 showed me that this course isn’t just about “tech stuff.” It’s about learning how to manage digital tools the way professionals do. That’s something I can use in other classes and at work.
