We had the pleasure of having Pamela Schure, MBA, the former director of product and services at 280 group and co-author of the best selling book "Product Management for Dummies" lead a very interactive speaker session on Product Marketing at the Product Club. Toby McChesney, Senior Assistant Dean of Leavey School of Business, joined us as well to give a warm welcome to our very special guest, Pam.
Key Takeaways:
1. The lack of time spent in marketing and strategy causes most products to fail due to poor value propositions.
2. You should position your product as a whole product that focuses on customer outcomes versus product features, and these customer outcomes should align with the core customer values.
3. Go talk to customers to determine if there is a need for your product and whether it actually solves a problem they are willing to pay for.
