Stop Motion
What is Stop Motion?
Stop motion is an animated filmmaking technique in which objects are physically manipulated in small increments between individually photographed frames so that they will appear to exhibit independent motion or change when the series of frames is played back.
Stop motion is most popular for storytelling. Stop motion was used a lot to make animated films, such as, 'The Nightmare Before Christmas', 'Coraline', and 'Mary and Max'.
Inspiration and Research
First Attempt
To create a stop motion video, I first downloaded the Stop Motion app in the App Store. After downloading the app, I played around with the tools to figure out how the app worked. I then decided to gather some objects to shoot my first stop motion video.
To make a stop motion, you must take a picture and for each frame you have to move your object/objects a little bit each time. In the app, I set up a timer to take a picture every 5 seconds so that my camera could stay still to make sure there is no movement happening besides the object.

Second Attempt
In my second attempt, I chose to use money as my object. I took 10 dimes and moved each one to create a number 1. I then thought to hit the coins to make it seem as they turned into a 1 dollar bill. 10 dimes are equal to a dollar so that is where the idea generated from.
To create a successful stop motion video, a necessity to have is a tripod. To shoot my stop motion, I set up my tripod in the best spot and chose a good background to place the object. I then set my phone into the tripod and used the Stop Motion app to capture my pictures.

Final Attempt
For my final attempt for my stop motion video, I got this idea from my professor. She showed me some inspiration and I thought the idea was very unique and interesting.
After I finished, I ended up with 60 photos. I started with an unmade bed, then set a timer for 15 seconds and for each photo I made it look like I was making my bed. I moved my comforter, then my pillows, and then my throw blanket, and even moved my remote across the bed.
The process of making a stop motion video is very long and time consuming and you must have a lot of patience so that you can create a successful product.
