What is a GIF?
A gif is an image format invented in 1987 by Steve Wilhite. It is a series of images or soundless videos that will loop continuously and doesn’t require anyone to press play. This repetition makes GIFs feel immediately familiar, like the beat of a song.
Gifs are frequently used in social media and marketing or branding.

Final Gifs
I first created my image in Illustrator and transferred it into Photoshop. I then began to create layers to have the fish move a few inches in each frame. In another layer, I erased the tail with the eraser tool. I also used the layers panel to have the eyes move left and right.
The frame animation panel is what makes the gif come together. Each frame shows different movement so the gif can flow. In each frame, I had something changing so that it looked like it was moving in real-time. After creating all of the frames, I made sure that the frames were on 'forever' so that it would loop. I also selected the speed at a faster speed so that the gif wasn't lagging and looked continuous.

To start this gif, I first used the text tool to type out my name. I then created another layer and copied it. In order to make edits on each of the layers, I needed to use command J instead of copy and pasting. This is important because I needed to use the eraser tool.
For each frame, I had to erase small portions of each letter until the whole word was erased. I used 26 frames to create the full gif. By doing this, it creates a flow of letters that come together as one word.
