Option 1: In-App Deletion (Recommended)
Easiest Method (Recommended): Open the CitizenONE App → Go to the Profile Tab → Select Delete Account button .
Option 2: Web/Email Request (For users who uninstalled the app)
Request via Email: Send an email to privacy@ascendme.in with the subject line "CitizenONE Account Deletion Request" and include the Email Address associated with your CitizenONE account.
For both options, USER will receive a confirmation message, after deletion and removal of account's entire data i.e within 30 days.
This section is vital for compliance. It tells the user exactly what is deleted and what is legally kept.
Data Deleted:
Upon a verified deletion request, we will permanently delete your account and all associated personal data, including: your Email Address, Display Name, Location History not linked to public, anonymized alerts, Private Messages, Trusted Contacts list, and all SafePoints balances.
Data Retained (Legal/Compliance Exemption):
We may retain certain data after account deletion if legally required for:
Regulatory Compliance: Data necessary to comply with the Indian IT Act and other applicable laws.
Security and Fraud Prevention: Anonymized logs and identifiers to prevent fraud and account misuse.
Public Content Anonymization: Publicly posted Safety Alerts and related videos/comments will be anonymized and may be retained to maintain the historical integrity of the community map, but they will no longer be linked to deleted User ID or Display Name.
